For Kirun's Trio:
Oronuin says: Then let us do this. It is time to win back our freedom! On the count of three... . 3!!!" Oronuin, jumps up and storms down the hallway, expecting the others to be following. There were actually three guards at the post, guarding a door. One had been asleep, while the other two were fussing over nonsense. They hear a battle cry and turn in puzzlement to see a man running at them. [ 07-29-2004, 10:24 AM: Message edited by: Larry_OHF ] |
Turin
Turin propped down in a chair, one of the only pieces of furniture actually in the small home, and stared off into space. The revelation that they had been betrayed for a second time did not bode well, and it made him sick to even speculate on who would have done so. However, it sounded like they had things under control now, and that they had inside help from the city's underground rebellion. At length, he finally said: "You have done very well in your task, Roland. I am glad to hear that our friend the elf is also well and has found a strong ally in this place. It looks to be getting late in the day, and we need to prepare ourselves for a big day tomorrow. I suggest we begin working on this home as would be expected of us by the occasional passerby, and get ready for our first night's rest in our new home." He glanced sideways at Robyn, but quickly turned away before she met his gaze. |

do we still have players here? |
OOC: OK I'm back as you might (or might not) have seen in the discussion thread. Nearly everyone needs posting I'll do what I have to for the characters I control.
IC: Robyn Robyn did not say anything while Roland recounted what he had learned. She noticed Turin's glance and managed not to blushe. "Do not think harshly of those who gave away the information of the mission Turin. The forces of Morgoth have harsh torture methods and they might have tortured one of the elves. As you said no harm was done and we are in no immediate danger. On a more important note: how shall we sleep? I looked and there are two rooms. One for two and one for one." - she asked with a meaningful glance at Turin. ----------------------------------------- Feldorn Feldorn and the small group of slaves he led attacked the guardpost at the entrance of the mines and after a battle of about ten minutes they won. However only six of them remained after the fight. Having such a small group was an advantage as they weren't spotted by anyone until they reached a staircase at the bottom level of the tower. There they surprised the group of ten guards who were there and quickly overcame them. Running up three levels they reached the main gate of the stronghold where few guards were posted because of the fire and the prisoners who had escaped and they managed to make their way out unchallenged using the same method as when they had entered. The three humans and the dwarf took Feldorn as a prsioner. Once outside they could easily make their way to the woods where the elves live. OOC: that leaves Terias or Kirun who need to post |
I'd still be here, only I'm vacationing right now so I'll participate when I'm back, in a bout a week.

OOC: Are people still playing in this game?
|
Terias jumps in and starts casting a lightning spell right behind orunin and aims it at one of the guards.
OOC> Am i supposed to say what happens to the guard too? Or is the dm supposed to state it? [ 08-16-2004, 03:24 AM: Message edited by: The Fallen One ] |
OOC: if the effect is unavoidable then you can say what happens if there is a chance that the opponent can avoid the attack then the dm decides. In this case since you left me the choice I shall make it.
IC: For Terias: As Oronuin ran down the hallway a flash of lightning went past him and directly hit one of the standing guards in the chest. He fell, lifeless, on the guard who had been sleeping. he woke with a jolt but with the weight on him was unable to move immediately. Oronuin was now getting close to the remaining guard. OOC: let's leave some time for Kirun's post, if he doesn't post let's say till thursday then go ahead. |
Turin
Turin felt his face flush as she had mentioned the sleeping arrangements. However, being a warrior that learned to think on his feet, and roll with the punches offered in answer: "Well, we must remember that even though it appears that we are safe within our own home, we are still in the middle of a city owned by a man that works for the enemy, so we are still in danger, as much as we would be sleeping in the wilds. While two people sleep, one in each room, the third will remain here near the door in case of a break-in. I do not think that all of us should sleep at once. I'll take first watch, if it pleases you. Who wants the next?" Turin was afraid that he was fighting a war here between this girl and himself that he'd eventually lose, but a fighter does not stop fighting, even when he knows the odds are against him. |
Robyn
"I'll take the last watch. I really think that I need the sleep before it."-she said with a wink at Turin meaning probably something along the lines that sleep could not only be done alone. [ 08-17-2004, 12:58 AM: Message edited by: dplax ] |
For Therlion:
Kalam came to see Therlion that night. He was in a hurry and was wearing a weapon and some armor. "Therlion. Prepare yourself. My father has ordered me to go on a mission with you outside the town. Either he wants to test you, or he places his trust to fast. Meet me at the main gate in a quarter of an hour."-with that he left before Therlion had the chance of protesting. |
"Test me? He doesn't know..!" but Kalam ran out in a hurry. Therlion grabbed his half-robes and sword, and started fastening his knives as he left, following Kalam.
[ 08-21-2004, 01:22 PM: Message edited by: Bozos of Bones ] |
For Therlion:
As Therlion got nearer to the gate he could see small groups of people gathering here and there walking towards the gate. At the gate a group of about fifty soldiers were gathered around Kalam on horseback. An aide led a horse towards Therlion. Do you know how to ride a horse? - he heard Kalam's voice drift over the crowd. The people on the edge of the street were talking in whispers among themselves. Therlion could catch references to himself being an elf. |
"Yes, I know how to ride one." Therlion replied as he mounted a horse. He neared Kalam and asked "What is happening here? Why are people here? Surely it's not to wish us farewell on our mission."
[ 08-21-2004, 01:22 PM: Message edited by: Bozos of Bones ] |
For Therlion:
As soon as Therlion was on a horse the group started moving out the gate. Once outside the gate Kalam started explaining to Therlion. "Scouts have indicated to us the presence of a large group of wild men from the hills two days ride south of here. These men have always been the enemy of our people for generations. It appears that our town was built on some holy site of theirs. They are the tribe of the Urgilths and about once every generation they try to capture our city. My father ordered me to go out with a scouting party to determine exactly what we are facing. He also said that I should take you with me. I do not know why, maybe he though that an elf could see things others would not." Kalam then drew his horse closer to Therlion's and added in a whisper. "But my father has never shown trust this fast before. I fear he had other reasons for this. Some of the men in this group aren't truly scouts, but soldiers who usually do his dirty work for him." |
"Then I'll keep my weapons loose." Therlion looked over the men around and turned to Kalam again "Is there a chance your father knows about our plan? This might be a way for him to get rid of you."
[ 08-21-2004, 01:22 PM: Message edited by: Bozos of Bones ] |
For Therlion:
"He might, and he might not, I do not know whether there was only one messenger sent from the stronghold. But my spies in my father's household tell me that I am not in danger. Now let us catch up with the others, we have a long night's ride ahead of us." |
Trotting up his horse's pace, he started thinking about places that were a nights ride away. Therlion asked another question "Where are we going anyway?"
|
For Therlion (the active member!!):
"Scouts said that a large group of the wild men is advancing down one of the mountain valleys two days ride away from here. By now they will have gotten closer. The mission is to slow their advance, while my father prepares the town's defences." |
"Slow their advance? That doesn't assure me of our chances of living through this." Therlion drew a long breath "I am hoping you have a plan, for I have next to no knowledge of this terrain nor the enemy we are about to face."

Introduction of a new player and some info for Therlion:
Keal had been sent to scout out the activities of the wild men in the mountains and possibly rally them to the cause of Morgoth's enemies. So far he has seen a large wargroup of these men advancing down a valley. He was on his way to report this information back to his leaders, when he spotted a large group of humans on horseback in the distance. As Kalam's group spotted the figure in the distance they turned slightly as to go towards him. They knew that here in the plains even if the figure tried to escape they would catch up. Several minutes later the group caught up with Keal. (OOC: info for Keal. If you don't know there are about fifty men in the group along with Therlion an elf) Kalam the leader of the group brought his horse forward, while some of his men seeing that the figure was an elf brought their bows bearing on Keal. "What brings you in these lands elf?" |
OOC>>>I was waiting for Roland's move, but I'll go ahead and assume that he will be okay with this.
Turin Turin did not want to, but gave in and met her gaze when she made the sly comment, meant to carry a secret meaning. Roland went to one room, and Turin watched Robyn strut off to the other, leaving him finally alone to guard the home from the inside. He drew out his sword and laid it on the floor next to him, since there were no chairs yet...and pulled out a pack of playing cards and began to play a solitaire game. |
"A mission, relating to the same force you are are about to encounter. I understand you are going to hold them back, I will assist you for the time being." He draws his sword slowly,"I may be of some assistance, what do you think." Keal says walking out of the shadows.
|
For Keal and Therlion:
As Keal's hand goes to his sword the men in the group move in closer to protect their leader. (OOC: you'd better put the sword away) "Elves have never been our allies. Why should they start now? Besides why should I trust you? I don't know anything about you." |
"Yes, but I do. This is Keal, an elf I know. He may be of assistance. He is the protector of this lands, and that might be an advantage for us." Therlion moved his horse closer to Keal and continued in a flat voice, not wanting to reveal to the troops any cloesness to Kalam "And if you don't trust him because he is an elf, remember that it was me who saved your sister." He moved his hair to show the men his pointy ear as he scratched his neck.

Robyn
Although she did not want to Robyn quickly fell asleep as she was exhausted from the previous days happenings. It was now only up to Turin what, if anything would happen that night. |
For Therlion and Kalam:
One of the men in the group, who seemed to be an officer of some rank, cried out: "Do not trust them! Elves have always been known to be evil." It seemed that all of the men started shouting at the same time after that, all saying what they thought was right. It took Kalam several minutes to calm everone down, after which he went aside with two of his officers to debate the situation. While they were talking a fierce looking rider edged his horse closer to Therlion's and in a voice barely above a whisper announced to him: "I'm the one who'se going to get you." The other men in the meantime where either pointing their weapons at Keal, or trying to hear what their leaders were talking about. About five minutes later Kalam came back and announced the decision he had made. "You may come with us, but your hands shall be tied and your weapons taken away, until I say otherwise. We also do not have another horse, I'm sure you could ride with your friend Therlion." All the while he spoke Kalam kept sending apologetic glances at Therlion. He had to make him understand that he had to be the leader of his men, still seemingly loyal to his father. EDIT: spelling. [ 08-24-2004, 02:54 PM: Message edited by: dplax ] |
Therlion, now relieved that Keal wasn't going to be executed on the spot, smiled briefly at Kalam. He then set his eyes on the rider that threatened him, and stared enough to stare down the rider. A huge man, bald, with a big scar on his left arm, Therlion now noted who he should be wary of if there was any battle. A thought later he realised that he should infact be wary of everyone in the troops. Atleast keal was with him now, that thought comforted him.

OOC: Sorry I have not been here as of late. The reason is becaue I lost interest in Roleplaying (and nearly everything else fantasy related. I dunno why though) thankfully going to the fantasy section of my bookstore has rekindled my interest. Again sorry for my abscense.
Roland twisted and turned. "I feel so weary and yet my body will not rest." He looked at the ceiling and his thoughts slowly drifted off to his past. He soon had fallen asleep and receeded into dreams. He clutched the blade in both his hands and saw as shadows sprung around him. He cut his way through the things. He breathed hard and saw his own shadow grow longer and become three dimensional. It grew immense and it soon swalloed him. Screams assaulted his ears, darkness blinded his vision. He woke and was breathing although he swam across a river. He went off his bed and saw Turin playing solitaire. "I will keep watch, I shall have no sleep tonight." |
For Roland and Turin:
As soon as Roland finished speaking a loud knock could be heard at the door and a voice shouted from outside: "Open up in the name of Lord Easthome! Open up!" |

Keal get onto Therloin's horse after being disarmed, and stripped of his armour. He soon whispers in his longtime friends ear,"Thank you, you have always been a good friend. Someday, I will repay you for always being true." After saying that, he looks at the man who said elves were evil. He looks at the man with such piercing eyes that the man begins to quiver in fear. Soon the man stops and scowls at Keal. He laughs at the bald man and soon gets back to business."If you return what is mine, I will prove to be the best of your men, better than any man you'll see in your lifetime." Turin
Turin had been watching the closed door of Robyn's moreso than paying attention to his game. Then Roland came out of his room swearing that he could not sleep. Turin counted himself lucky that he had not made a move toward the other door already. It would not have been well for his charge to see him with interests for anything but the mission. Then a knock came at the door, with the voice of a man that cared not for the sleeping neighbors. He looked worriedly over at Roland. In whispers, he said, "Take my sword there on the ground and stand behind the door. I will act as though I am the only one awake. Be careful. Okay...let's do this." Turin walked to the door and waited for Roland to take his position. He spoke to the man outside in the meantime. "I shall open the door straight away, sir...as soon as I can get on my pants! Won't be but a second!" |
For Therlion and Keal:
The same man who had said that he did not like elves started laughing heavily at what Keal had just said. "You are our prisoner elf. We do not give weapons to prisoners. So just shut up and don't talk unless you're talked to. And don't try any of your mindtricks on any of us. Even if you might fool one of us there are fifty others to take his place." |
For Turin and Roland:
The same voice shouted through the closed door: "You'd better hurry up! Lord Easthome doesn't like to wait." |
Roland took his position and held the sword. And whispered "Now."
|
Turin:
Turin opened the door a bit, not ruling out the chance that the person could be a common thief, using trickery to enter the home. He thought of Robyn still asleep and became even more defencive in his posture. "How may I be of service to our Lord at this hour of night?" |
For Turin and Roland:
Outside the door a man was standing with a torch in his left hand and his right hand resting against the doorframe. He wore a heavy cloak, most probably against the night's cold. No one else could be seen in the streets. "I am sorry to have woken you up this late at night good sir, but the lord wishes to speak with you and your two companions. If you could pleas follow me down the street that way. - said the man pointing in the direction of the city gates. [ 08-28-2004, 06:47 AM: Message edited by: dplax ] |
Turin
"Very well...we will accept this summons, Roland and I, but may I ask that the lady Robyn remain asleep? She was very tired today, and I worry for her health. Is that too much to ask? If not, then allow me to go and awaken Roland, and we shall be on our way." The tall man stood there, hoping that the guard would accept this plea, and then if anything were to happen to them, they would still have her to depend on to get word to their allies. |
For Turinand Roland :
The guard seemed to hesitate for a moment. Clearly he had not been expecting this reply. "That would be acceptable. The lord shall decide anyway." - he thought loudly to himself and then as if Turin had not heard this he told him of his decision. "Is Roland asleep or can he come now?" [ 08-28-2004, 06:28 PM: Message edited by: dplax ] |
"If I ment you any harm I could have killed you all one by one without any of you Knowing what hit you. Now, let me ask you again, Will you return my weapons, I will gladly go with you even into the deepest fires, so will you at least give my armor back? You can have Therloin or any other elf you come across read my mind, I mean you no harm." He looks at the man honestly, and showws that he is not giving any effort in trying to get away.
