Well since your talking about dual and multi classes is there anyway to make a mage/soreros and then dual to a kensia???

Accord 04-08-2001 03:31 AM

The only way you can dual into a kit is by using Shadowkeeper, you need to dual from a mage (sorcerer cannot be dualed from/to) to fighter, then use Shadowkeeper to change the kit from normal to Kensai.

Personally I prefer to stick with human. So I can fine tune each class individually. http://www.tgeweb.com/ironworks/cgi-...smiles/338.gif
But once all my exams and courses are done, I will start a multi fighter/thief/mage...... http://www.tgeweb.com/ironworks/cgi-...les/tongue.gif

Well wouldnt that be kinda cool though a Mage soreceror even without the kensia added i think so the added sorceror skill would make you unstoppable

BG2SOA 04-08-2001 03:39 AM

I never used Shadow Keeper,so I never multiclassed.

Well, you don't need Shadowkeeper to multi-class..... you only use it if you want to dual to a kit or have an kit in a multi-class.

Ok now on another topic,I never understood how to backstab, what weapons to use and all that,my thief is level 20 so all of his thief skills are already 100+ (Except for detecting illusions),so I think I should be able to backstab,I just need to know how exactly.

You can always backstab as a thief, all you have to do is hide in shadow (meaning the stats of hide in shadow and moving silently is important), go behind your "victim", and STAB!! http://www.tgeweb.com/ironworks/cgi-...l_laughter.gif
You get a higher backstab multiplier when you are at higher level, that'll all.

What weapons are good for backstabbing?

Also, normally you cannot backstab with weapons like hammers and maces... ALthough I don't see why not in real life..... http://www.tgeweb.com/ironworks/cgi-...les/tongue.gif
Backstabbing weapons include: long sword, short sword, katanas, ... etc.
I don't think you can backstab with 2-handed swords....but some suggested that it is possible to backstab with a staff (although I never tried that yet).

Accord 04-08-2001 03:55 AM

Try monk or bard. Or dual class and go solo.

I mean specific swords, like I hear celestial fury is good for backstabbing, but there are probably better swords to backstab with.

They don't really make too much difference to be honest, just treat them as normal attacking weapon. THe difference between backstab and normal attack is the multiplier, the consideration of weapon is the same for either attacks.

Gaunlets of weapon expertise offers MORE benefits, both to THAC0 and damage. A must for high power fighters!!

You can't backstab with a staff using 2nd Ed rules.

It's now what's called Sneak Attack in 3rd Ed. rules. I think they implemented it in HOW.
