Any news on 3.1 coming out?
I loved 3.0. but for some reason I couldn't install the Tyrnton patch on my old ME system. I also use the European version. Oh, and I'm not great with computers. Still enjoyed the mod up to Tyrnton |
If you have mad gods editor you may be able to go in and delete the encounter that causes the problem, I'm not sure though. The problem is with Lanthorn the hunters group. Or play and avoid Trynton, getting the destine dominus up to assention peak would be difficult because you would be insane unless you were all psyonisyst at the time.

Quick question, I'm at the Ratkin part of Trinton. How do I get through that first door to MArtins goodies? I can't remember, do I get the key / item from the Shamon?
|
Spoiler
. . . . . . . . You need to get to the shaman, by putting the idol on the pedestal before you get to the Ratkin tree. The Idol is in Martins bluff. [ 06-06-2007, 05:53 AM: Message edited by: Variol (Farseer) Elmwood ] |
I thought so, just could not quite remember. Thanks.
|
I enjoyed all of the Wizardry games, especially 7. I never quite finished 8.
From the inferences in this thread (I see no direct verification), it appears that mods for Wiz-8 may exist. If so, this is my first clue. Where can I look up the details of any mods? Or have I misunderstood? |
check out www.flamestryke.com and go to the mod section. the two best mods are flames mod and Deathstalker 3.0

Yes, it is a good cursed weapon but the last application of holy water really does the trick. It takes away the poison damage I think however
|
Dang, thought I could finish that dagger, but Divinity is not quite up to 65 :(
Any ideas how to boost it, it kust seems that my Mage skill is going up? [ 06-17-2007, 07:15 AM: Message edited by: Target ] |
I'm in the umpani caves, the unexplored bit. I've jumpted down a hole to a lower level with a big underground lake, but I can't find a way back up, is there one?
|
there is, all the way at the East side, on top of a rock, there is a rope ladder going back up, gr. William
|
I got out, thanks William. Welcome, (edit - just seen you've been around since 2001, so welcome back?)
While later I portled to Arnika, into a huge group of vairous enemies, (I know it was huge my party of 4 got over 180,000 xp) near the end I noticed some new people had gone red, the Hergardi (sp?) were attacking, now they've gone hostile on the friends list. Any idea why? Will I have to fight them everytime I return to Arnika? [ 06-17-2007, 01:58 PM: Message edited by: Target ] |
Of course I don't know what you did, but there are some new spells (Agni's Fiery Darts?) that literally hit everything, friend or foe. If you (accidentally) kill a friend, you're up sh*t creek without a paddle as our USA friends so neatly put it. I think you'll have to go back to a save before you piss off the Higardi, good luck, William
|
Oops, to late I fear, my previous save was I think quite a while before, I'm now hiding at the Mook enclave. Will have to see later.
|
I have played the whole game after making them mad at me, it is possible. The oly down side is you won't be able to buy things in arnika and when you get to Trynton and go into the shop Anna will attack you probably. Sometimes she does and sometimes not. You can check out how bad you did by going to Anton and see if he will sell to you or not.
Do you have the armor on from the monestary and the shield? Also there is lords fist you find in the cave where the seekers used to be on arnika road. You can switch one level to priest. It sounds like you may be playing a bishop? In the DS mod wizardry needs to be number 3 behind Alchemy and Divinity other wise all you will ever raise is your wiz skill. |
Cheers!
Yes I have a bishop, so if I swap to priest and use my normal spells that will raise my Divinity? That will be good, same I've only recently leveled up!! D'oh! |
It's always that way isn't it.
|
yep, you can say that again.
Hopefully I have a save game, not to far back and I can kill those 2 birds with one stone. |
Dam and double dam. No saved game going back before my Arnika battle. Anton won't sell to me either.
So I went to get Martins helm, as I tried to enter the ratkin team the game crashed, some monster error code came up something about the t'neaill traider not being found :( I have the added trynton patch installed (I think) any ideas what is causing that? [ 06-20-2007, 04:41 PM: Message edited by: Target ] |
that could be a faction issue. Try and rest for 3 complete 8 hours and then try and re-enter. If that doesn't work try resting more and if that doesn't work you may have to start over with a new game. It doesn't happen often but when it does what a drag.
If the error message has anything to do with Lathorn the hunter then the patch is installed incorrectly. but it sounds like you have been to trynton before. You usually get that message when you enter trynton the first time right away. |
Dam!! I will be a pain if I have to start over, I've put many mant hours and 'training' into this game.
Fingers crosssed the resting will work!! |
:( sniff sniff, camped 6 times in a row. But it didn't work.
Is that it, game over? |
unless you have mad gods editor and can go in and fix the error message, yes.
|
No, I don't have the editor.
bugger. I guess it will be good to uninstall it and start again. I'll have to think about a new party. |
I'm not sure you need to uninstall. I have had 2 game ending crashes in the year I have been playing but I never had to uninstall I just started a new game.
If you want you can download madgods editor from wolfie's site I think or just google mad gods editor and you will get a link. It is easy to use once you play around with. |
I'm no good at those editor things.
When I've come accross those deathstalkers it's been my bard and Gadg that have taken them down. If I don't have either, how do you kill them? |
The best spells I found are earth hammer and only do level 2 or 3, and ring of fire works well. Also if you pick up Antons sword that cast unlimited boiling blood at level 3 I think and that will do some damage. Wound also works pretty good.
|
The best you can do is either Banish lvl. 5 or better by a priest, or the glove of the Gadgetteer, gr. William
|
Thanks again.
I was thinking of a traditional party going back to Dungeon Master days. Lizardman Fighter, going with Sword and mace Hobbit Rogue, Sword and dagger Mook Ranger, Bow with maybe a whip Preist changing to Bish after 5 levels Then I'd pick up a gadgeteer to make the dagger. The only worries I have is would a fighter and rogue make the game to dull and samey? [ 06-23-2007, 07:03 AM: Message edited by: Target ] |
Yet one more question.
I thought I would re-install the game before I start, What setting do you use to play with? I've left it so far with Direct X 7, changed resulation to 1024*768*32. But I don't know what sound to choose. |

[QB] Thanks again. I was thinking of a traditional party going back to Dungeon Master days. Lizardman Fighter, going with Sword and mace Hobbit Rogue, Sword and dagger Mook Ranger, Bow with maybe a whip Preist changing to Bish after 5 levels Then I'd pick up a gadgeteer to make the dagger. if you're thinking DS-mod make that fighter a lord with dagger and mace, the combination Rusted dagger off the rogues in the lower monastery with the mace from the battle at the Umpanicamp is staggering. Make that thief two daggers instead of sword snd dagger, and give that Ranger an axe, you'll see why, have fun, William |
add: "pick up a gadgetteer". You can only get Madras, and I do not know if you want a lvl. 7 gadgetteer, when the rest is 10+. Of course you can enlist Myles in the mod, and have a gadgetteer with some thieving, have fun, William
And make that Lord a Dwarf or a Dracon, or a Rawulf, some intelligence is needed to learn skills more quickly. |
I'm not sure what settings I play with. The ranger using a whip is a good idea. If you get a whip and combine it with the spider silk you get the spidersilk whip. It gets two attacks and can paralyze and poisin. Combine two spidersilk whips and get the elder spidersilk whip. You can duel wield spidersilk whip. I'm not sure if you can duel wield a spidersilk and an elder spidersilk, I don't think so. But you can duel wield the elder spidersilk and the "wound" mace. Have your lord duel wield the lords fist mace and the dagger. I love those whips, it is a divinity skill to combine I think.
|
I was thinking the Fighter would get more damage than the Lord, but I'll give the Lord another go. I like Dwarf's but I think the breath weapon will sing it in favour of the Dracon, I might need something early on that can cause cone damage.
|
I like playing a dwarf priest with mace for 9 or 10 levels then switching to a fighter. That way you have your divinity high enough for anything and you get the fighters damage.
|
That's an intersting idea. Might have to remeber that for next time.
Well I've started again, fingers crossed this will be a problem free run through. |
I've no idea what I've done, was on the Arnika road, near the rogue den thing, and all the Hergardi was hostile to me. Went back through all my saved games and the Hergardi were all hostile, even the first time I went to the upper monistary :( god knows what I've done.
Can't believe I'm going to have to start again. Another weekend of gaming wasted. I'm really unlucky at this game. |
you may need to re-install at this point. The oly time I had the higardi hostile that early was when I accidentally killed some of the helpers in the monestary. I think it was the monk that walks around.
