You know I'd really like to see a show that actually based the winner on the best "survivor" and it not be some popularity contest/alliance/vote-off-the-biggest-threat, crap. Seriously.

Buy a cheap VCR, Sir G, and you'll be set. Or perhaps we can work out an arrangement... we tend to tape survivor (since the kids go to be at 8:30) and watch it on tape at 9.

Your guys were safe, although the young guys team really needs a wake-up call. It's interesting how both older teams have fire, shelter, and water taken care of, and the younger folks can't seem to figure out what to do first (so let's not do anything!).

BTW, I second the thoughts on the smoker. What in the #$%#$% was he thinking? He's going to be rolling up some local plant by day 6... probably all those leaves in the old women's bed :D

Boneheaded plays (IMHO):

1. The "don't tell anyone, but I was *in* the space shuttle" move -- now, honestly... what does this buy you on Day 2? Except a target on your back, that is...

2. The "pretend I found the immunity idol" ploy -- she was so catty and coy about it that it should be obvious to everyone that she doesn't have it.

3. Playing baseball instead of building a fire and shelter -- Yep, got my priorities straight. I want to strut my stuff for the women two islands away...

I know, I don't see what telling people that your big secret is you were actually in the space shuttle will do. And dang! That guy is soooo pale, you can easily pick him out of the crowd, just follow the light! I guess he really has been in space (dark) for a long time. Dude's gonna get a wicked burn I bet LOL at some point.

And I doubt anyone believes that girl found the immunity idol. Why? Cause when Probst brought out all the other immunity idols, and they saw they were shrunken heads, she let out an audible gasp, like she hadn't seen one before. You so know that hidden idol is one of the same things, i.e., heads. So I doubt anyone is buying it.

Blah. I usually don't watch Survivor, only did this time around because of our game. Now I don't know whether to continue to root for Where's Aras (who you KNOW would have been voted off had the young guy's team lost) or hope he goes next so I can stop watching this catty show.

Our DVR crashed Thursday 4 PM and, yes, I tossed the VCR like two years ago. So, for the first time since season one I have missed an episode of survivor because I had to work Thursday night.

My wife took notes for me, and comparing them here, it does seem like I'm gonna like this one too. The poor players are usually the most entertaining. LOL [img]smile.gif[/img]

That's pretty over the top, but he does seem very antsy and anxious and hyper and a lot of those types smoke (like me), but he is just an extreme example methinks re the amount he says he smokes, geez just wow LOL. Hard to say how long he will last on the island. Funny as hell how Aras changed his tune though (must have used his spiritual harp +5 I'm thinking) to bring Shane around to say and also to vote off one of the clearly two lame bishes. I think Melinda fell short just cause Cerie seems to have some balls even if evil ones LOL, whereas Melinda had none at all.

Anyway, this week's boneheads, in no particular order...

1. I'm not going to lie. We're doing lousy. (Shane's bit prior to the Immunity challenge). My wife and I were debating whether this was stupid or excellent gaming. Turns out it was stupid.

2. The four of us have decided one of you is going... way to tip your hand really early, Jethro. Four is a good number, but take a look... there are still 12 on the other side... ;)

3. I want you to vote me off. Give me your word. Psyche! Yeah, Psycho is more like it. Just hang a sign around your neck saying you're a pawn waiting to be used. You will be... like it or not.

4. Losing the fishing spear on the first shot. Talk about hanging a kick me sign on your back... Sure, it was an accident, but did anyone think of practicing in the *shallow* water?

On a positive note for our Aussie friends, I believe CBS is making the episodes downloadable via Itunes or something like that. Don't know how palatable that will be, but it might be better than being stuck :(

Good point, Mack. I guess I considered their inability to start a fire to be a holdover from voting off Tina... last week's bonehead play. Who was it who was doing that? It didn't stick in my mind well enough.

On a side note, maybe I'm stupid or something, but has anyone noticed that almost everyone tries to start fire by swinging the big machete against the tiny piece of flint? Oh I too was surprised that poor Bruce got picked last! How did Cerie get chosen before him? So didn't get that, but man I laughed and laughed when we found out he got immunity. Heck who knows, since they showed absolutely none of his three days on Exile Island, he may have even found the hidden immunity idol!

Oh and who was it, Misty? who had some horrible rash on her arms in the beginning of the show? Gah that gave me the weebie jeebies!

Oh and Sir Goulum, Austin so far seems like a decent competitor. Dan may go far too just because of alliances. When you watch next week you will be able to spot Dan on your screen immediately too, he resembles a pale version of your own name LOL.
