Its the most underated classic rock album ever! by Queensrhyce, operation mindcrime.

Your not going to ask me what track are you? it's on vinyl, stashed away in the back of the cupboard till I get around to transfering them to CD :(
I have this on cassette. "Revolution Calling"

Melusine 07-19-2003 07:21 AM

Wellard got the album title and band name, HolyWarrior the track name.
I think we need some more specific rules Shadowhound, because this is the second time that happened. Maybe they can both give a new quote?

PS Wellard, read and replied.

shadowhound 07-19-2003 05:51 PM

The person must post the Song Title and Artist, just posting half won't do it. But this time I think they can both post lyrics. One of them can post for Link (he has had a week to post it, thats long enough).

HolyWarrior 07-19-2003 11:54 PM

OK then, here goes:

Sometimes for a moment of bliss,
and the passion we're craving, there's a message we miss
sometimes when the spirit's left alone,
we must believe in something to find if we've grown
tragic reflex, shattered calm--static progress, senses gone--
numb awareness, final psalm.

cazzie 07-20-2003 03:19 AM

i think but im pretty sure song is lines in the sand by dream theatre...

wellard 07-20-2003 07:43 AM

OK here is mine *for link* from 1994 and a big hit in quite a few countries around the world

I sank into Eden with you
Alone in the church by and by
I'll read to you here, save your eyes
You'll need them, your boat is at sea
Your anchor is up, you've been swept away
And the greatest of teachers won't hesitate
To leave you there, by yourself
Chained to fate

Live's I Alone.
*shudder*

wellard 07-20-2003 07:46 PM

Grojlach is correct. though I don't know what is with the shudder, they are a TOP band

So come on Grojlach it is your turn for a lyric

HolyWarrior 07-20-2003 11:54 PM

Cazzie is right! "Lines in the Sand" by Dream Theater it is.

cazzie 07-21-2003 02:51 AM

woo go me hehe...ok this is mine

The only light in the darkness
Is the flame that burns
In my soul

If there's one band I've come to hate with passion, it's definitely Live. The Netherlands was one of those unlucky countries in which I Alone became a major hit, and it has been on semi-huge radio rotation ever since. That annoying song is as overplayed over here nowadays as Queen's Bohemian Rhapsody ( ) and is on my list of nominees of songs to ban for good. Also, everything they've done after Secret Samadhi is an insult to people's intelligence ( ;) ), with their faux spiritualism and so called "deep" song structures which actually have difficulty beating a puddle of rain water when it comes to the question of which one's the least shallow.
Wasted potential, that's what it is. ;)

Grojlach 07-21-2003 05:36 AM

Anyways, my take...

Quote:

The creature in the sky
Got sucked in a hole
Now there's a hole in the sky
And the ground's not cold
And if the ground's not cold
Everything is gonna burn
We'll all take turns
I'll get mine, too

wellard 07-21-2003 08:03 AM

Fair enough Grojlach, you can hate a band if they get to much exposure. My hate of the moment is Travis...great single the first 250 times you hear it. But every time I hear it now it reminds me of how crap the albums are

but back to cazzie and your questions....I dont have a clue

Timber Loftis 07-21-2003 11:48 AM

Hmmm.... just getting around to posting mine. Sorry.

He said "Little girl, you can chop off my legs
And then peel off my socks if you want to.
But I'd rather you took this old puppet from me
That I hold in my pail as we speak."

And he stood looking down at the innocent girl
And she stared at the bucket bewildered
Til he lifted the doll for the young girl to see
And a giant smile grew on his face

She saw the doll's eyes and she couldn't resist
And she thanked the man quickly and ran to the church
And she burst through the door with puppet held high
And a hush filled the chapel, and the people looked mean

Fo sheezy.

Esther tried in vain to pacify the mob.
Quibble grew to spat, to wrangle, then to brawl,
The frenzied congregation struggled depserately to fetch,
The pretty puppet snuggly nestled deep in Esthers little sack.

Correct! And the Pixies are indeed quite good. Not sure what to think of their rumoured reunion, though...

And Timber, Phish? A bit predictable.

Sir Exxon 07-21-2003 03:06 PM

Alright, how 'bout this one:

Before you slip into unconsciousness
I'd like to have another kiss
another flashing chance at bliss
another kiss, another kiss

The days are bright and filled with pain
enclose me in your gentle rain
the time you ran was too insane
we'll meet again, we'll meet again

Really? Damn. I thought Eminem would be predictable so I didn't use him. I had some old They Might Be Giants ready to post ("Call the men of science, and let them hear my song, tell them Albert Einsteing and Copernicus were wrong") -- but thought this old Phish would be obscure enought to merit SOME challenge.

None of this would have mattered if someone else hadn't already quoted Marilyn Manson's recent song (The New S**t) from Matrix Reloaded -- which is what I really wanted to quote. I just LURVE that chorus:
Babble, Babble, Bitch, Bitch
Rebel, Rebel, Party, Party
Sex, sex, sex, and don't forget the violence
Blah, blah, blah
Got your lovey-dovey sad and lonely
Stick your stupid slogan and
Everybody sing along
Awg, you're the only Phish fan that I actually know of - truth be told, apart from some parts in the USA, Phish isn't really all that well known at all. You mentioned being a fan of their work before, and it more or less stuck in my memory... Wasn't too impressed by Farmhouse, but I really should take some time to listen to some of their older work one of these days. ;)

Never badder than bad 'cause the brother is madder than mad
At the fact that's corrupt as a senator
Soul on a roll, but you treat it like soap on a rope
'Cause the beats in the lines are so dope
Listen for lessons I'm saying inside music
that the critics are blasting me for
They'll never care for the brothers and sisters
now across the country has us up for the war

Awg, it could be harder than you think, especially as there's still the matter left of which AC/DC song you're quoting from; and considering the fact that AC/DC have been basically releasing the same album over and over again for 30 years in a row now ( ;) ), this could be a bit on the confusing side.

Ok it's my turn again. Another easy one (for the older members) to keep things flowing.

I can't yell about the shape i'm in
I can't sing, i ain't pretty and my legs are thin
But don't ask me what I think of you
Because I might not give you the answer that you want me too.

This might be hard ...

Who is the girl in this rusty bed?
Why am I back in a filthy room?
Why is her voice ringing in my head?
Why am I high on her cheap perfume?

wellard 07-28-2003 10:08 AM

It might be a case of we have 3 to hard to answer questions. Maybe those who have an outstanding question can ask again?

Night Stalker 07-28-2003 12:22 PM

Ok you might be right ....

Mine is from Miss Saigon - Why God, why?

Here's a new one .... you should be able to get this Wellard ....

When I'm out walking
I strut my stuff
And I'm so strung out
I'm high as a kite
I just might stop to check you out.
