The Wyvern Wizardly Workers whirl in and start fixing up the place - Once the skeletons, bats and ghosts are hung it will be obvious that the broken panes of glass and the cobwebs were merely the first layer in the Halloween theme currently being perfected.

Is the "HAUNTED BAR" sign done yet? We open on Friday you know and we'll be open every night until Halloween when we'll have the village party!! Hope you have your costumes in order!!

Scabban will be the greeter - Erathsmedor is in charge of the cash.
The Gypsy Queen will be reading fortunes over by the fire.
D'Soto will haunt the upstairs corridor.

What is everyone else doing???

aleph_null1 09-29-2004 09:30 PM

The young cardinality, aleph_null, is overworked during examinations working toward Bachelorate Guild Level.

A Boogre Brew -- or eight or ten -- wouldn't hurt his studying, though :D

So So 09-29-2004 10:15 PM

I feel your pain aleph_null1... although I am not in college yet... I have many college apps to finish and send out very soon... how about a few rounds on me? sometimes I wish Hands of Time was a spell that could be done in real life... :(

Bungleau 09-30-2004 10:10 AM

LOL! Nice move, Wyv! What better way to justify the current state of affairs than by making it the *normal* state of affairs!

I'll get the Haunted Bar signs made and ready for tomorrow. Every one else, get ready for the All Hallows Eve party... and while we're waiting, who'd like some Boooooooogre Broooooooo? :D

*edit* Forgot to mention... you have my sympathies, o young cardinality! Test time is always challenging, no matter how well prepared you think you are (or aren't).

And I too wish I could cast spells in the mundane world. Time Stop would be awfully handy when I'm trying to get to the airport from a customer... but I don't think they'd let me have incinerate or firestorm while I'm driving! :D

The Dungeon and tunnels leading to Kerielle's Windmill are almost complete. Scanthril and the Stouts took a lot longer to complete these then was originally planned. Something about locating a vein of gold and digressing off towards the crypt but no matter. We'll have to work overtime to get them decorated but that won't be a problem as I've hired a good crew to pitch in. We've permission from everywhere to take anything needed to enhance the atmosphere of our Haunted Bar. Well, not completely true - the Salads are being completely uncooperative.

Is the murder mystery at the party a go or are we dropping that idea?

Costume judging will be done by the mayors, of course.

Mekdawa wanted to do racing for potions by the Mill.

There's digging for Dragon Ore in the tunnnels - won't be real Dragon Ore, of course, just that gum that looks like gold nuggets. One cache will have a bigger prize.

I'll see to it that all the workers keep the noise level down for those attempting to study while enjoying a few brews.

(checking notes and wandering off to see how the dungeon and tunnels are coming along)

bsftcs 09-30-2004 12:22 PM

I am already scared. :D

So So 09-30-2004 05:21 PM

*steps in to see construction going on everywhere...*

No wonder Wyv is the great Mistress around here... whatever will the holidays be like without her?

Wow... the Bar strikes fear into my soul already... well what's left of it... so can a Vampire get an affordable shot of Bloody Mary's this time of the season?... or have the prices skyrocketed on those?

Olli Kalma 10-12-2004 02:21 PM

* Opens the door and walks in the bar...*

Wii! you never imagine who I saw just a moment ago! A Boogre Vampire who told me she had finnished adventure in Gaeal Serran!

Hah! Give me some nymph coffee and accept
this old 'scroll of gold' for paying that cost...

* Takes coffee and sit down near the fireplace, where you see whole bar at the same time. *

Hmmph. it sure looks that you guys are scared!

Bungleau 10-12-2004 11:03 PM

Olli! Good to see you again! And really... Boogre Vampires taking down the unholy Lord Cet? Sounds like another tale worthy of the listening!

*draws a cup of nymph coffee*

*looks at it*

Hmmm... this pot's a little old. Let me put on some fresh stuff for you.

So what do you think of Wyv's decorations? Only 19 more days to the All Hallow's Eve party...

aleph_null1 10-13-2004 12:38 AM

Nymph coffee later...

... I could do with 4 or 5 more Boogre Brews first :D

Wyvern 10-13-2004 07:12 AM

Hello Olli! You will have to relate your Vampire Boogre tale! :D

------
Someone suggested Bobbing for Rat Pies as a game for the party - I'm inclined to pass on that idea as having limited appeal.

The Magic Shoppe has set up a costumes section so if you have had no luck locating a costume - check there. No charge for use if you bring it back in good condition.

Tunnels/dungeon have been completed and the spiders have been decorating them with webs.

D'Soto and Rumpy don't want to be part of the decorations for the party. Gareth is rumored to be coming as a ghost - in fact as many ghosts considering how often he's been offed.

As far as I know it is NOT true that NPCs that have been offed in various games plan on laying in wait in the Haunted Dungeon of Fear to seek revenge on the players that offed them. Caution is advised nonetheless.

Cet is planning on bringing is band to provide music for the party. He insists on being paid. I told him that he'd have to audition but so far don't know of anyone else to provide music. We're open to suggestions.

Scanthril and his gang offered to act as waiters - I suspect that they aren't just being nice. Keep an eye on your money the night of the party.

Any other additions or ideas??

Wyv. Sure I do that when I get back into home.
Now I'm taking one week vacation, but
next week, I have zillion homeworks to do...

Hmmph. Must think some good costume for
party...

Maybe karaoke contest with Scabbans servant?
We all know that singing ain't that good but, after that there's humming of birds on the treetops :D

hehehe That is a "horrible" thought! :D Very much in keeping with Halloween!
I like it! :D

We'd have to decide what songs to put on the karaoke machine! hehehe

Wyvern 10-14-2004 04:11 PM

SERIOUSLY NOW:

IF we were to have a real Halloween Party on here (which could be fun) we'd have to find a time that was good for all (or most) (or a few) LOL!

Not an easy thing to do when we're all over the world!!

jsalsb 10-15-2004 09:24 PM

*flings himself through the bar door* *crashes into a deep chair*

Please - a deep mug of... anything! Boy am I exhausted!

Hello to all! I've been away for a bit, and will continue to be away - excepting small bouts like this one - Because the "new arrival" has arrived! Baby Sam came last Friday evening (Mommy and Baby are doing great!). Got home from the Houses Of Healing on Tuesday night, and have been at it solid ever since.

What am I saying - a round of deep mugs for everyone!

aleph_null1 10-15-2004 09:32 PM

Congrats, jsalsb!

I'll definitely have a round or eight for the baby!

bsftcs 10-15-2004 09:57 PM

CONGRATULATIONS!!!

Wyvern 10-16-2004 08:45 AM

CONGRATS jsalsb !!!!

That's terrific news!!! :D

Bungleau 10-16-2004 10:36 PM

*opens up the special cooler in the back*

Wowsah! Congrats, jsalsb, on being the latest to join the ranks of daddyhood! It's a great and wonderful place, and almost as good as parenthood (lest someone pull out the PC scroll of judicial summoning ).

A round on the house for everyone... from a bottle of Miracle Liqueur that I *ahem* liberated from the wizards' guild's hidden cellars. Apparently, Xanther's efforts to make that special potion resulted in quite a few interesting accidents, including this one. Pour it into your glass, and as you drink, it changes into the thing you'd like to drink the most at that point in time.

Just don't drink it when you're depressed or down... it really doesn't help then.

But we're not, so belly up to the bar and drink!

*smack* Mmmm... mine's tasting like a white Russian.... mmmmmmmmmmmmmmm....... :D

bsftcs 10-24-2004 10:47 AM

Interesting new avatar you have there, Bungleau. :D

Incidentally, did you know that "beholder" means container in Danish?

Lord 10-24-2004 11:09 AM

Congrats, jsalsb!

That's a new avatar for B, bsftcs? I think he's had that one for a little while.

Bungleau 10-24-2004 10:01 PM

Yep... new avatar. Or a bad hair day, depending on how you look at it :D

chi master 10-29-2004 10:20 PM

*Walks into bar whilest cloaked in invisibility, pulls out cellar key from the good old days of Jaffin's bar ownership (I was cellarkeeper, remember?) slots it into lock of the cellar, twists and "click"* "hehehe..." *emerges hours later having significantly reduced the bars over flowing ale kegs...*

Olli Kalma 10-30-2004 01:17 PM

Congratulations jsalsb!
And long live Sam, our new member in Gaeal Serran

Sorry I have been missing too,

and all others too! Gin Gin! :D

jsalsb 10-30-2004 05:26 PM

Hi Ho. Just popping my head in. Thanks a11 for a11 the congrats! New daddyhood is keeping me on my toes - when it's not keeping me f1at on my back. It's meant that I've been working a1ot from home these days. And it's amazing how much work you can actua11y get done with a baby on your chest! (by the way - first casuaty was my 1aptop keyboard - got something spi11ed on it, and now the "1" doesn't work - that is, the 1etter between K and M - so I'm using the "1" key - that is, the number before 2).

Maybe I'11 pop down to the ce11ar to join chi master...

LOL jsalsb, I remember when I broke the '.' character on my keyboard... I had to end every sentence with either an exclamation point or a question mark!

*steps up to bar, removing cloak* Pint of the local ale, barkeep!

Wyvern 11-01-2004 06:46 AM

(clearing away all the Halloween decor)

We had a scary Halloween - our ISP went down due to high winds. We were without for a little more than a day ----oooooooo way scary! lol!!

So So 11-01-2004 01:54 PM

jsalsb 11-16-2004 05:55 PM

Seems us bunch'a tea-totalers have been avoidin' the o' BB for nigh on a fortnight now. What's up with that?

I've come in to drown my sorrows. But I'm not actually sorrowfull about nuthin. So I'm just all confused now. Oh well. Cheers!

aleph_null1 11-16-2004 06:45 PM

Normally, being Tuesday, would be out drinking, sorrows or not.

Can't today. On duty.

Instead drink Boogre Brew! Great idea!

So So 11-17-2004 06:59 AM

Here's a toast to sorrows... May they vanish along with our brews....

and a round on me for my new promotion.... Barkeep!

Bungleau 12-02-2004 03:34 PM

I was just coming in here to do that... a round in honor of Dragon2005 hitting 50 posts! What'll ya have, jsalsb? Something to keep you up, or something to put the little one to sleep? :D

For me... mmm.... I think I'll have a Stout Ale. The good dark one, the kind you can chew if you want

Cheers!

Hmmm... last time I was in here, I was having the beholder bad hair day. Now, I'm Janet Jackson's friend. Wonder what's next... ? :D

And how do we convince Torrin to open a sushi bar in the corner of the bar? THAT woud be something! Sushi and beer GOOD!! (Or get him working behind the drinks bar, a la John Belushi, a.k.a. Samurai Bartender - and hope that no one asks for "half" a brew!)
