I think it's down at the moment; kept my computer running all night to download it, only to find out now that I haven't been able to download the last file yet, for the reasons mentioned. Can't wait to play it. [img]smile.gif[/img]

i only managed to download 33% of one last nite and it was on all night. it was going majorly slow

yeah, mine too. only like 25k/s [img]tongue.gif[/img] . seriously though, ive downloaded three of the BIG files, each about 2-3 hours. atleast thats what it said before going to sleep...at the lowest ive seen was 13 kilos per second. not bad, i say

its a mod that allows one to play bg1 and TotSC with the bg2 resolution, speed(no more of that annoying snailing about like in bg1) and, most importantly(from what ive understood), you get to play bg1 with the bg2 CLASSES and KITS!!! im not sure about the kits though. also, you will be able to use bg2 only weapons, such as katanas, wakizashis, ninja-to's, etc. basically, it brings the bg1/TotSC in to bg2.

i was just thinking. what will happen when you finish bg1 and go to bg2. will it just be the same. because then you will maybe lose some of your party. any body know? Luvian you must have tried it by now, is it good?

Ive got bgt_distro.ace and most of bgt_distro.c02, also a part of bgt_distro.co3. Should have it all down by the weekend.

tell us if its any good. I cant understand what is gona happen when you complete the first one and go on to the second one. What happens if you had dynaheir or khalid in your party. does that mean they still die?

I had made a big post, and I got an error trying to post it...

I got computer problems and didn't get the time to install the mod yet.

After you kill Sarevok, the npc you encounter again in BG2 but are not found in Irenicus's prison will leave your team. You then go to investigate something in Ulgoth's Beard, when you come back to BG, you find out that people think only a Bhaalspawn could kill a Bhaalspawn. So you leave quietly to avoid conflict.

Then you are attacked and captured, and you wake up in BG2.

hey i had that problem aswell. try again now it might be working. U should make the big post because it will be interesting.

What is needed is a mod to rationalise the crossover part. Preferably make it so that your BG1 party comes over to BG2. Maybe even let Khalid live depending on player choices.

But what we have is good enough to keep me happy for a bit.

As for swapping, I can get em all myself. PM me if you want me to post a copy to you. Wont be for a few days yet though.

Erm... I've been trying to download all of the files from the ftp mentioned in the first post, but is it just me or is bgt_distro.c03 missing? :confused:

And the IRC-channel doesn't really seem to work, either... Probably because I'm using trillian. Will try mIRC tomorrow, but I suppose the best thing to do is wait for the file to be put up on the ftp-server. :(

oh yeh. try checkin the other way to download it and see if its there. If its not then maybe you dont need it.

Its missing, which is a PITA. You can get it through IRC, but apparently resuming over IRC is a bad thing. Im hoping it will be uploaded soon though.

You'll miss out on a lot of area-files mostly, which isn't really that much of a problem since I've got copies of BG1, BG2 and ToB myself; but I've got no idea which ones of the other files were changed; and the smallest of files missing could already prove disastrous for the entire mod. We'll just have to be patient, I suppose.

I dont think you can open any of the archive without all the files. Either that or my bgt_distro.ace is corrupted.

I was able to extract all of the files, except for the last one; so perhaps your bgt_distro.ace is indeed corrupted. :(
(or perhaps bgt_distro.c00 is the first one to be extracted... Not sure)

Turns out winace falls over on a incomplete archive, but if you open it by hand you can get into it. I was getting just a little worried there.

Going to take around 4 hours for all the files to dl for me... Is it self-explanatory or would someone who has already done this care to post a tutorial? [img]smile.gif[/img]

All the are files were edited, so if you install it without the bgt_distro.c03, you will get huge problems.

The ftp is not supported by Bardez (the author of the mod) and he does not have control over it. The guy that creaed the ftp probably will upate it later,but we don't know.

As for resuming on mIRC corrupting your files. It happened to me with distro 3, but I had a few crash while downloading it, and I was using faulty RAM. I re-downloaded it, and everything is fine. I even resumed it twice.

So where should we go to get the bgt_distro.c03 file? Will downloading it from a different location cause problems in the mod? Hope not...

It won't cause problem, and it's only availablefrom IRC right now. As well as the lastets patch (1.1)

I'm completely new to this file transferring through mIRC thing... But what does the message "There is a minimum CPS of 500. Any sends going below that will be terminated." mean? As it's probably the reason why sending files to me doesn't work.

Groj :- theat means you have to have a certain speed or the server will chuck you. Since there are very few slots on the IRC servers, its neccesary to keep extremely slow connections off. Im not sure what CPS means, but it worked OK on my dialup.

I think you probably havent turned off autoignore - mIRC is set is reject any attempt to send a file to you. DCC->options , theres an "ignore option" in the DCC section and another in the folders subsection.

Ross -> Ill try, but I cant keep a connection open long enough. We'll see what happens.

I guess CPS = Chars Per Second, a measure of connection speed.
