I would include familiar places such as baldurs gate, dragons eye, underdark etc so it gives some people a sense of fact from where it came

Annatar... one last suggestion:
Once you're done with your Katana, open it in IEEP and EXPORT it to a folder (i.e. 'Annatar's Items') using IEEP's export function.

AFAIK, if you only save it as an *.itm file, and you have to reinstall the game, you might find that your carefully written description (the history of the weapon) is gone. At least that's what happened to my own items... :(

I'm planning when I finished this particular sword (I'm near the end now), to create a serie of balanced weapons for BG II SoA/ToB.

Still missing the Aid while equipped, I will look into this today.
And the Reputation requirement of 18 - 19 (rather 19 due to loss of evil NPCS then), I can't seem to find it.

Color of the blade is Blue/Light blue semi-glowing (not like the CF that it really sparkles, but an endless not-to-bright glowing effect)
Due to the fact that purple was rather ugly IMHO.

Its still open for debatte, so comments...edits...every comment will be considerd.. trust me ;)
