in regards to the comment on missing MMO's - I am waiting for Torchlight 2 to hit the retailers in april - its not MMO but does have Multi and seems to be a clone of diablo2 and dungeon siege... It looks good for me ( played the first one through several times ) so if anyone wants to co-op the pm me for some battling of strange creatures and fun

You know, I missed this game - Torchlight. I actually on heard about it recently while looking for games I can play on my netbook. I loved Diablo I and II. So I just downloaded the Torchlight demo on my netbook earlier this week, and lo and behold it actually does work on my little netbook. I ended up buying the game as it was relatively cheap. Of course the game looks really small, but it works just fine. :)

Which is awesome. I mean, these days, its rare, ya know?

BTW all you IW'ers facebook me!! :) http://www.facebook.com/dhuling

It's amazing that it's been 11 years (including blueboard).. I mean, I never thought I'd create such a forum that turned into a close
friendly place, kinda like a family. Heck, because of Ironworks, people got married. THAT right there is worth it for me! :)

I plan on IW's being here in 20 years! Have been having some health issues, but are getting better. I have MANY new things for IW's to come soon.
I'm almost done with my tgeweb remake. Its massive... over 200 html pages. Then update/upgrade Ironworks Gaming website, and the Forum.

BTW, I sprained my right wrist bad.. this was like 3 weeks ago. The swelling and bruising went down after 3-4 days, but its going on 4 weeks! Normal to still hurt?
It begins to hurt when I use the mouse, lift things... I'm a righty so its getting irritating. :) more than painful.

If its not better by 6 weeks, I'll get an x ray.. I mean, I probably ripped the tendon...

Congrats on you and Donna's anniversary! :) I also look forward to seeing what you have new for Ironrworks, yay!

As for your wrist, I hope it gets better. Have you been trying to use your other hand when on the PC? I imagine the less you use it the better for awhile. Maybe someday we will have technology where we can wear some sort of headset that will detect our eye movements/focusing to navigate the web, and voice commands to post LOL! :hehe:

I haven't been here for some time (other than one thread last year), but yeah.... I signed up 10 years ago, too. I'm glad to see that a number of names I remember are still here. I'm gonna have to try to come here more often.

Just an update -- tgeweb.com is back up--they didn't process it instantly so they 'suspended it' for 2 days. grrr... :) All is back now. yey! :)

BTW, I'll take a pic of the cool picture frame plaque we received for a wedding present! I've had it hung in the computer room ever since we got it!! It's awesome!!!

It's nice to see that the forum is still here.

Just found out, Ironworks was the first board I ever joined. Hell, already 12 years ago. Unfortunatly there is not much RPG talking here, so I'm reading most of the time.

Any of you guys play Forge of Empires by any chance? It's a free browsergame, kind of city management combined with PvP combat. You start out in the stone age and can work your way up all to "tomorrow" era. It's good fun.

I'm playing Earth and Beyond emulator, old game brought back by fans. Sci-fi, which seems to be somewhat rare in new games. Enjoying the hell out of it, it was my first online game

Re: Has it really been ten years?

Looks like a good thread to post my updates.

I moved a year ago to central South Carolina as a manager for the company I've worked for the past five years and then they give me a severance package and now I am stranded here. I've been unemployed almost three months now, but have a couple self-employed options coming up soon.

Two years ago, I finally got my family to Disney World and had the intention to drop in on Ziroc who lived close enough by to warrant the attempt, but never found the time in our four-days to try. I regret that.

It's been a long time since I've played a decent game, other than the occasional Wii-U game with the kids. This is not how I ever expected things to turn out and I miss gaming and I miss this forum family. I keep hoping for an IW Revival and wondering what it'll take to get back to those glorious days of minute by minute activity. I remember it being so busy years ago that I obtained permission from my boss to spend my free time at work performing my moderating job online and he approved!

Nice to hear man.
Massive changes for me too.
Been almost 15 years in NYC now.
Married, two kids, various work changes.
Life! Goes by in an instant.
Hoping to keep enjoying each moment as it presents itself.

I can't believe after all these years, I am still the third-highest poster on these forums behind Cloudy and Johnny. But looks like Yorick is trying to catch up in a matter of days! Heh

I'm glad to hear from you, Yorick!

I've got three girls and a fourth (final) baby on the way in December.

Wow congrats Larry! That's sensational news.
I love my daughters so much. Daughters are an absolute joy.

I am still here too! So many things have happened since I last posted here. I am so glad this forum is still online! Love all of you Ironworkers veterans! Oh, and if you get the chance, jump out of a plane! Skydive! I did it twice as a tandem, and 5 times on my own after taking the classes. Awesome doesn't even describe what it is like! :)

15 years+ for me...crazyyyy

Re: Has it really been ten years?

Yeah, it is wild!! As soon as I can afford to pay for the new version of vBulletin (the new version isn't covered under their 'lifetime license'.. since its a new version.. pff.. costs like $200+ lol.)
so I'm saving for that now.

The new version has loads of new features, and most of all, spambot script-bot proof Capcha. And I can re-open the site again to New Users!!!
It's good to see you guys still checking in!! Ironworks will be re-invented once again soon, and I've got plans for a small console section for games, and Game modding and a few other neat Forums in mind. Ideas are welcomed for any other forums too!!

Re: Has it really been ten years?

Notice that animated signatures run too fast (IMO). Will the new software/hardware fix that?

Ziroc 01-20-2016 07:21 PM

Re: Has it really been ten years?

I'm sure it will. That only began after the last major patch for this version. (yey!) I'm still trying to find out why this is happening.. something to do with a timing algorithm.

But yeah, the new version would correct that. I'll check tonight again in the code. I may get lucky and fix it. question is, why did they do it.. odd.

Ziroc 01-20-2016 08:17 PM

Re: Has it really been ten years?

Ok, I think it's windows 7+ because I just checked on my Windows 2003 server browser, and the animated gifs look normal speed. So, I expect the new version of vBulletin will fix this. just a timing issue maybe? or something else weird.. lol.

Just rebuilt/repaired and optimized the database and all files, turned off all addons (arcade, etc) and nothing changed it) ah well. A fix to look forward to in the new version! :)

Re: Has it really been ten years?

They're running at Warp 11 in Win 10 too.

Ziroc 01-28-2016 11:08 AM

Re: Has it really been ten years?

Yeah, they're on speed! :) Guess the code is just not used to it.. strange though.. but you'd think it would just load the files... not process them--but I saw that in the code, they can somehow change users posting animated gifs. but many are offsite...

just seems weird. Anyone with XP or Windows 2003, and 2008 let me know if the gifs load normal. may just be OS related with vBB code.

If someone with XP sees it fast (non-local) using old XP IE browser, let me know. then I dunno. ;)

It's one of the mysteries of Ironworks!! hehe!!

Re: Has it really been ten years?

I think that it is great that the forum is still going after all these years. I was regular poster back in the early 2000s, and whilst I do not really post any more, I still find myself checking in from time to time, lurking in the shadows.

I am amazed that there are so many names that I recognise, who still post to this day! It is a testament to the community Ziroc and the rest of you have helped build.

Re: Has it really been ten years?

Is anyone here still playing WoW btw? I still play it, pretty much for one or two hours each day. Right now the game is slowing down again, until the moment the new expansion releases, but i still find stuff to do on one of my many alts. I have reached over 20.000 achievement point now, so finding new challenges gets harder and harder, just one title i'm still chasing and that is "the bloodthirsty". Still have around 60K honourable kills to go for that one though, but at least it keeps me going. :D

Luvian 02-22-2016 10:39 PM

Re: Has it really been ten years?

i haven't played Wow since the first expansion came out. Been so long. And at times it seem like I'm the only one that stopped playing. :o

Ziroc 02-23-2016 06:36 AM

Re: Has it really been ten years?

Oh, I stopped in 2009 I think.. or stopped playing 90% after getting bored.. raiding was fun, but SO much to do now, just don't have time to do that, working on my 3D modeling, and comic book reboot.

Luvian 02-29-2016 09:01 PM

Re: Has it really been ten years?

Yeah I know the feeling. I feel like I don't have a life anymore. I wish I had the time to have personal projects.

Re: Has it really been ten years?

I quit in Cataclysm. Gave away my hoarded gold and mats and never went back. If I ever hear the phrase " I gotta do my dailies" again in a game again it will be too soon.
