Re: Cloudy's Cafe, a conversation zone-May 3, 2009
It could be any number of things. It could be stress. It could be food. It could be both, or neither.
Simple fact is, I have bouts of insomnia where I go to bed in the early hours of the morning and wake up a few hours later, but usually they only last for a week. This one has been around for a month or so. It isn't too bad. THe main problem is I can't concentrate, and I space out stupidly easily, and when I come back I'm not all with it, so I say random crap which makes sense to me but not to anyone else. Occasionally I hallucinate, but oddly, that hasn't really happened yet. |
Re: Cloudy's Cafe, a conversation zone-May 3, 2009
Hello all.
How's the sleeping problem going, DS? Has it cleared up at all yet? Maybe helping yourself to some M&M's from the endless M&M jar (what would we do without it?) will help. ;) Hope everybody is having a good weekend. Anybody who needs to vent, I'm here to be a scratching pole. Not much going on at home at the moment so I would be very grateful for some excitement through other people. Please. :) Anything interesting happen lately??? |

Re: Cloudy's Cafe, a conversation zone-May 3, 2009
The sleeping is... Still not at normal times, and still not always for long. Although I did get from 5am to 4pm the other day, which was very pleasant after a long time of 5 hours per night maximum.
Last night it was too warm for me to sleep. |
Re: Cloudy's Cafe, a conversation zone-May 3, 2009
Ah, my last week in good ole michigan. At least for a while.
I feel rather odd about it too. Excited, and scared shitless at the same time. |
Re: Cloudy's Cafe, a conversation zone-May 3, 2009
Hehe, sounds like me before I went to Sydney. Except I wasn't really scared. And it wasn't a very long trip. So probably doesn't actually sound like me at all. Good luck to you. I hope you have fun.
Glad you got a bit more sleep, DS. Hope it clears up soon. Sleep is vital. I know I couldn't live without at least eight hours a night. |
Re: Cloudy's Cafe, a conversation zone-May 3, 2009
I beat Zelda: Majora's Mask this morning around 3am. And honestly, I don't see how it can be done without a walkthrough. Ocarina of Time was vastly superior in gameplay.

Re: Cloudy's Cafe, a conversation zone-May 3, 2009
Sleeping is nearly normal now, thankfully. Just in time for my last exam.
I may not be around a whole lot soon, I have to move out of my flat - I don't know when - And move my things into a house -I also don't know when. There may even be a couple of weeks where I just camp around with friends due to being homeless. I've got one more ocunselling session next week, then that's my lot. *Grabs M&Ms and puts them in a bag* May as well stock up now. |
Re: Cloudy's Cafe, a conversation zone-May 3, 2009
Hey DS, hope the sleep is better now. I read a book a while back called "Counting Sheep" it was basically about the science of sleep etc. It was a fascinating book and I found it really helped my sleep patterns. Definately worth a read!
I have just ordered a brand spanking new copy of Planescape: Torment (I have never played it before) so when that arrives I think I may experience some strange changes to my sleep patterns.... The hardest thing is not looking on forums etc about the game - I want to be as virgin as possible, but have heard such great things about it, i want to learn more! |
Re: Cloudy's Cafe, a conversation zone-May 3, 2009
You'll enjoy Planescape Torment. I got a copy off a friend, and it's amazing.
The sleep is getting better, thanks. I still wake up every few hours from about five onwards, but I'm baming that on the heat - I don't do well in hot weather. I've finished my first year of uni. Now... I just have to wait and see if I passed everything, and then, on to the second year. I can finally move out of this flat, and into a house with people I like. Which means I can use the kitchen without fear of drunken strangers throwing things at me and waking me up when I finally get to sleep the day before an exam. |

great game - I'm sure you'll enjoy it :) G3 do a tweak pack - doesn't add content, just makes some (optional) changes to the mechanics. http://www.gibberlings3.net/pst/ |

It's 4:30 am.
"The sleep is getting better" - I spoke too soon. |
Re: Cloudy's Cafe, a conversation zone-May 3, 2009
Cheers - will be downloading patches and was planning on getting a fixpack such as that first, then off i go!
DS, I still go in cycles where i wake up real early for a while etc. Yeah, heat is real bad. Not sure what your flat is like, but try getting up when you wake up for 10 mins or so to cool down, you know, do a quick streak round the house or something. At times though, especially when you have big things on (such as, for example exams!) nothing will really help. Take heart that you will still get sleep - people always overestimate how much time they are awake. Anyway, now that the exams are over it is time to PARTAAAY! so you wont be wanting sleep anyway! |

I don't think you need the official 1.1 patch if you have the 2 disk version of PST. Spellhold Studios have some goodies too. http://www.spellholdstudios.net/ Go kick some Sigil boo-tay :D |
Re: Cloudy's Cafe, a conversation zone-May 3, 2009
*Tries to pull M&M jar off counter to give to DS, finds it is magically stuck to prevent theft. Fills another bag instead.*
I seem to sleep better in hot weather than in cool weather, for some reason. But when we had a heatwave of over 40 degrees Celsius for about five days in a row, that was hard. Hopefully it will get better after the exams, because it probably won't get better before, unfortunately. |
Re: Cloudy's Cafe, a conversation zone-May 3, 2009
Gah... Dead on my feet... I need to start getting used to this. *Curls up in the corner with M&M bags and falls asleep*

Re: Cloudy's Cafe, a conversation zone-May 3, 2009
Evening all.
I haven't slept for over 24 hours, haven't eaten much and have just been sick several times. I am now going in to help build giant model pterosaurs with Mark Witton. I am doomed. Hope you're all doing better. |
Re: Cloudy's Cafe, a conversation zone-May 3, 2009
I feel so sorry for you DS. Although saying that won't help. Hmmmm. We must solve this mystifying conundrum.
Oh, happy first of June to you all. |
Re: Cloudy's Cafe, a conversation zone-May 3, 2009
Help himself to the M&M jar contents :P
G'day all I just finished NWN2 for the first time (thanks to my neighbor Kezardin) So the drinks are on me - :heee: |

Well done, it is a good game. I'll have a vodka and coke.
One more day of sanding giant bits of foam, then I have to start packing up my room. My arms ache. |
Re: Cloudy's Cafe, a conversation zone-May 3, 2009
I'll take a Irish car bomb followed with a whiskey chaser, thanks!
oh, and congrats on the completion! :D  |
Re: Cloudy's Cafe, a conversation zone-May 3, 2009
Nice work on the game, Wellard!
Things just seem to keep getting worse, DS. Take 50 bags of M&Ms home with you. Elif Godson, your noob sig never fails to crack me up. Thanks for the laugh. Favourite line: Talk to your kids about the danger of noobs. I thought the kids were the noobs? ;) |

Re: Cloudy's Cafe, a conversation zone-May 3, 2009
You can have the blue, but I'll eat all the rest.
I've taken another slight turn for the worst ("is it lupus?" asked my friend Charlie), but I can blame that on stress - I'm moving out of my flat today. I never realised how depression packing a year of your life into a 3x5x8ft locker is. Then I get to move back in with my parents for a few months, so its a nice long journey there. And I get travel sick. Joyous. |
Re: Cloudy's Cafe, a conversation zone-May 3, 2009
Don't underestimate the damage stress or even mild depression can have on your health DS.
Wishing you well - and thanks for the blue M&M's :P |
Re: Cloudy's Cafe, a conversation zone-May 3, 2009
The end of the long weekend has come. In a few hours it will be time to return to the normal daily slog. Sigh.
Ziroc needs money, by the way, in case you haven't read the thread. Though I'm sure you all have and are digging deep. I would if I actually had money, and the exchange rates from Australia to America weren't so high. But I'll try. How are things, DS? Any better? Or do you need to hit something? How is everybody else? |

I need to hit something. I have just thrown up again, twice in one week which is rather odd. Hell, twice in one year is pushing it a bit for me. I've been feeling a bit off colour on and off all week, so it is likely that I have come down with something. My sleeping seems to have resolved itself, more or less. So this is just one new problem to add to the pile. It always seems to be something. I also have to decide if I want to go back to counselling or not, so I can work out if I should sign up as soon as I get back to Portsmouth (the sooner I can do it, the more likely I am to get a regular time booked). |
