Yes you need a fresh install. The readme file tell you everything about installing.

About changing all the items. Wizardry 8 has only a small fan base out of which there is only a small number that would like to see all the items changed. There are many that do not like DS mods because of the amount of new items.
My mod focuses on storyline and progressive battle strength to maintaina high level of challenge.
You will however find many more new items in this version than the previous versions of my mod due to the new enchanter skill given to specialist spellcasters.

Well I'm trying to down load it now, the first part took mere seconds, although my downlodey box is telling me I'm 15 mins to go for part 2, what's up with that!!

Did you get to any of the new locations?

Just tryed to download part 2 again, and it seems the servers for mediafire are not working! I'm not having much luck with this.
