Hmmm, I recently got an EyeBrow piercing and had completely forgotten that I may have to now remove that before I fly (And I fly somewhat frequently) :(

IMNSHO, you shouldn't have to remove your piercings. At least, provided they're not weapons in and of themselves, that is ;) A typical stud or whatever shouldn't be an issue.

In general, I believe that piercings will only show up if they're very large or wanded. Wands and scanners have sensitivity levels, and wands are usually set higher. And since you can now request visual inspection, that should remove the need for removal (depending where they are, of course, and on your own preferences... sheesh, is this a slippery slope or what?).

Ya know, as I think about it, I've been wanded for things like my watch before, and a visual inspection has been enough. They verify that it's a watch and move on. Same logic holds... if logic can be said to exist at TSA, that is...

yeah, but when they wand you up and down between your legs and the alarm goes off, it's pretty embarassing. nyc is truly hardcore with their wanding. add in the fact that everyone else in line behind you gets ticked off. not a fun experience.

I've got my ears pierced.
one in the right, two in the left.
I also had my nipples peirced, but that was short lived.

Yup. Was really tired when I posted that, and saw "eyes" where "ears" was. Odd. :P

In any event, the TSA went out of hand with this. A... visual check probably would have solved it right away.
