Still with my added 50 hp, its hard as hell with a Ranger. I mean so many damn caster use spells that mess with your mind.

I use a Free Action scroll before any big battle which works great against anything but Dire Charm, which those damn sirens and dryads are good at casting...

I think your right, a theif is probably the best. I chose a ranger for many reason...

A)Range Attacks! (great)
B)Melee Attacks! (moderate)
C)Hide in Shadows! (moderate)
D)Healing And Buffs (moderate)
E)Range Attacks! (again becuase if you kill the enemy before they touch you, yout in great shape.)
F)Hybrid class with bonus's from Fighters and Druids really.

Still, I'd say ur pretty much screwed with anything that can't pick pockets and go invisble. I tried soloing with a mage, a cleric, a ranger, a fighter and fighter/mage. I'm working on theif and have just gotten out of cloakwood (the farthest I've gotten with class)

Im working on Durlags Tower solo right now with my ranger... but ive already died like 20 times lol

Ugh! I forgot about ol' Durlag. That's gonna suck for my lil thief/mage. we well, I'll figure out something...
