A DNS server is simply a listing of IP addresses and corresponding domains. The lists are constantly refreshed by the site hosts themselves, so there's no way to get a new DNS server.
You're getting through all the way to the site, so you're actually finding it. If DNS were the issue, you wouldn't get out of the Comcast domain. And since you can get through with an anonymizer, again it's not going to be Comcast. I'll say it differently from dplax. It's not that static.dimenoc.com is keeping you out. Something at elite.host-care.com doesn't want to let you in. If elite.host-care.com is your host, then ask them why you can't get in directly, but you can from an anonymizer. You may have to go through a couple of rounds of discussion if someone tries to brush you off. They may have a system-level ban of an IP or domain. That would be something that you wouldn't see at your own site level, because they wouldn't let you override that. The only other thing that might help would be to reset DHCP on your machine, but that should have happened naturally in the couple of weeks you've been having the problem. |
