You now understand why I refuse to presell anything I cannot confirm I can get my long, dark fingers on at work (The Source By Circuit City). Coworker of mine presold two PSP package units, then expected me to find them for him. I could have simply chokeslammed him through the terminal. Now he keeps nagging at me to find it, and he jokingly told me if it gets refunded he'll put it under my name. Given my current position in the store I work at, I told him "go ahead" in a "yes I am annoyed with you puny meat thing" voice. (It won't affect how much I get paid.)

Even better are the customers who come in or call in day after day looking for the Wii. Why didn't Nintendo learn from the mistakes of Microsoft and (especially) Sony and make more units available? Sooner or later, people are going to start insisting I am holding out on them with their ("their") Wiis and that my company should be held personally responsible for the customer not being able to acquire one. Like hell. Go blame Nintendo and take your issues with you if you can't understand I don't go to the beach and make them with silicon chips squeezed out of my bare hands. (That's what I'd LOVE to say to customers with a copy of Nintendo's phone, e-mail, and snail mail addresses. However, I can't do that. I must be nicer.)

I don't know how you do it, Mozenwrathe. Between fellow employees attempting to compromise you and customers of irate disposition... well the valium must work wonders! :D

Oddly enough, they are not attempting to compromise me. They just want me to perform miracles. Sadly enough, the same can be said of a lot of the customers. Especially when people bring back opened games and expect a full refund. Nope, not going to happen. But to the main topic of pre-ordering games, the folks at EB Games (whom I dealt with regularly at least) took pre-orders in based on the popularity of the game. After all, if there is a lot of hype surrounding a game, you'd expect a lot of copies to be sent out to satisfy the hungry mobs. Pity I don't work that close to an EB Games (as it sits on the opposite side of the mall) as I'd love to know what kind of business Gears Of War is doing. For something that had so many foaming at the mouth, I've not had a single customer come in looking for it.

Nintendo... should have learned from the mistakes of Sony and Microsoft. It's a sad state of affairs when one cannot get a NINTENDO product easily. I mean, they promote themselves as something every child and half as many adults would want, price themselves accordingly, and then not make enough? Rubbish!
