If I can remember the name of the woman who wrote Clan of the Cave Bear or any of my other favourite writers then I'll jot 'em down here. ------------------ Balgin, the Dwarf |

Favourite Fantasy authors : Robert Jordan, Raymond E. Feist, Anne McCaffrey, Mercedes Lackey, Robin Hobb, Jennifer Roberson (for the Tiger and Del series), Weiss & Hickman (not all of them, bt especially the Death Gates series), M.Z. Bradley (even if my husband says it is cheap litterature !). And Zelazny. And Terry Brooks (I think every Shannara book gets better than the prevoious one, even if the 1st book was not top). ------------------ http://fc1ddq.free.fr/stan2.gif The world is my oyster ! And a vote here for the master - Robert Silverberg. I defy anyone not to be moved by his short story "Sailing to Byzantium"

Definitely Anne McCaffrey, Marion Zimmer Bradley, Ray Bradbury, Diane Mott Davidson, Mercedes Lackey, Terry Pratchett, Elizabeth George, Dick Francis, Lindsey Davis, Sharan Newman, Barbara Delinsky... loads more. As for the previous comment regarding MZB and literature, what's literature anyway? I can't stand reading Hemingway, and Dickens himself can be a bit unreadable at times. I read what I like.
