You haven't said whether you've had any success importing your old bookmarks into the new profile?

What about into a different browser...I don't think IE has a decent import, but something like Opera should be able to handle it. Import them and then let Firefox import it back.

I can't find the buggers, that's the problem.

Your bookmark is a .html file. Have you tried the search function? Just input bookmarks into the search field and search.

by default, mine is located at:

C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\defaults\profile\bookmarks.html

Now, tried importing them into Firefox, it just re-added the default bookmarks. Somehow it's totally wiped clean my bookmarks.html file.

I'm guessing there is no way other than a restore, right?

Does a system restore back up your Firefox bookmarks? I thought it was only essential system files?
