Mine has been about 45 hours while playing Disgaea, took a break for about an hour, then went right back to it :D

Longest I ever went consecutively was around 36 hours, - Nature calls, and ate at the keyboard. We, there were three of us, started at the top of a custom dungeon in NWN's, and went all the way to the end, just to see how long it would take. Note: We managed to this with no deaths, and the char I used, when I installed Hordes, jumped from 20 to 36. Can't remember the name of the module now, or even who was with me. What a rush. Oh, slept for 12 hours after that...Good thing it was a Holiday.

Compared to everyone else, I'm a lightweight!

I go for 3 hours maybe. Then I get bored and eat something.

I'm gonna take a stab at it and say that the guy died from a caffeine (spelling on that - looks wrong, but spell check says yes) overdose...

Well when Morrowind was released and we had school vacations, oh man... Me and my bro would sit there playing it all day and all night. We feasted off of Cape Cod Potato Chips and Arizona Green Tea. Anyone who wanted to go on, we would snarl at them like a feral animal. All the shades were completely shut. I think we played from 2 or 3 pm to 5 am. So like 15 or 16 hrs straight.

He was sitting down for 50 hours, so vienous thrombosis could have contributed to his death, or deep vien thrombosis, there is a reason they advise passengers on long haul flights to get up and take a walk every once in a while.

He could have been overweight, or had a weak heart, or both

Your in good physical shape, he probably wasn't in a good shape.

If he smoked, drank, or takes certain medications he'd also be more suseptable to heart failur from massive inactivity. Remember he's sitting down for most of thouse 50 hours, you know what happens when your lying down very still for a long time and you stand up quickly, you'll get a bit light headed, and it's a little bit of a strain on your heart, just imagine that after 50 hours.

Though, yea he's a bit of a lightweight, I once spent a whole week playing a MMOG (few years ago now), without rest, I'd practicaly forgotten my name and how to speak when I finaly left my computer.

You know how rundown you feel after a sleepless night. Imagine your state if you had to stay awake for 8 nights at a stretch – like Peter Tripp.

Peter Tripp, an American disc jockey stayed awake for more than 8 days in the display window of a shop in New York. He wanted to establish a record.
Passersby could see the gradual deterioration in his condition each day. By the eighth day he was on the verge of a nervous breakdown. He was hallucinating and there were times when he would scream.

Quite honestly, I doubt it if you stayed awake for a week straight playing a MMOG... Would it be even possible to control basic motor and control functions necessary to play a computer game?
