Too predictable, i think he's going to bite below the belt this time. :D

Ricky Hatton is awesome. He should be the champ for a long time now...

Lavindathar 06-10-2005 11:25 AM

Just seen some pictures, of I beleive it was the weigh-in, and that guy TOWERS over Tyson. Tyson was straining to look up...

I think this will be interesting, but I'd go with Tyson to win. Just because, out of the 32 KO's that Kevin McBride has had, he has not beat anyone of great skill.

He's only getting 75k for the fight as well....it would take more than that to get me in the ring with Iron Mike!

On a boxing side note Sir Degrader, did you see the Kosta Tszyu v Ricky Hatton IBF light-welterweight fight last week?

I missed it, had exams this week, so most of last week was spent studying. Glad to hear that Hatton won though. Anyone got a torrent link to the fight?
Edit~Tyson encouraging Tszyu to keep fighting. Ugh.

Not sure. But, HE IS Mike Tyson, with a 50-5 and 44 KOs record. Going up against a bigger, yet slower, 32-4 and under 30 KOs record having young pup!
Let's see, Mike walks with millions, win or lose, the other guy walks with under 75k, win or lose.
In stats, Iron Mike has 55 fights with 44 KOs or 80%. McBride has 36 fights with 27 KOs, or 75%!

Your Right! Just who does he think he is?

McBride is a bum tailor made for Tyson. Quoted from ESPN: http://sports.espn.go.com/sports/box...dan&id=2081018

Quote:

Two of his four losses have come when he's stepped up his level of opposition – a fifth-round TKO loss to DaVarryl Williamson in 2002 and a ninth-round TKO loss to Axel Schulz of Germany in 1997.

The other two have come against fighters with losing records – Michael Murray (1998) and Louis Monaco (1997). McBride's third-round TKO loss to Murray stands out far more than the others. From 1996 through 2001, Murray went 1-17. The lone victory? Against McBride.

For any boxing fans, this will be a far superior card. Cotto is one of my favorite young fighters to watch.

Tyson:
1)He's fighting over 230: He's lost 2 of his 3 fights while fighting over 230.
2)He's old.
3)He doesn't have alot of heart: Against Williams, Holyfield, Lewis, hell even agaisnt Douglas he sucked, and he was in his prime. Also, not he's not fighting in front of a supportive audience.
4)Mcbride is huge: 270 and 6'5, against Tyson's 5'11 and 233. Mcbride is larger then ANYONE Tyson has faced, including Williams and Lewis.

Tyson is going down.

[/QUOTE]In for some side betting?
1. Tyson is still 30 some odd million in debt.
2. He has never lost to a nobody.
3. He doesn't need heart, he needs money.
4. Huge also means SLOW. He'll get a swing or two in, to every three or four landed blows from "THE CHAMP", who by the way is over $30 mil in debt.
5. Back to 3, DC is like "his adopted hometown" re-read your own link. He will be in a very supportive atmosphere, and he will walk away on his own two feet! He needs a couple more, then he can peddle his wares on QVC, or Wal-Mart, for his pocket change.

Sir Degrader 06-10-2005 05:13 PM

1) So? He's going to get the money anyway, win or lose.
2)Buster Douglas was, and for the most part, still is a noboy.
3)Joe Louis needed money, and still had his ass handed to him.
4) By that logic, Tyson should kick Vitali Klitcho's ass.
5)True, true.
