<span style="color: lightblue">According to the Wikipedia, Popes used to wear them. Considering traditional church policies, I'd say yes, this means non-gay men can wear them.

I'd just like to point out that I personally think that ANY man who wears a tiara, whether he be straight, gay OR the pope, is in his own right committing both social and fashion suicide.

Uss - how the heck does this fit into the novel of yours?

So my answer is indeed a big no, unless copious amounts of alcohol are involved (see above).

Well, alcohol is pretty much always involved in my case, but if you don't mind i'll stick with my Yankees cap. :D

Well, in the novel, I'm planning to create a male person with long black straight hair that reaches down to his knees. I figured that it might be more logical if he'd have chunk of metal in his hair to better hold it together. The story itself is in an imaginary medieval universe, so it shouldn't be too unfitting, I think. I don't want to have any gay references in it however, so you guys tell me if you think I should drop that idea.

Wouldn't that ne known as a circlet, i thought a tiara was a light form of a crown, worn by females.

Whatever. I was thinking of a pretty piece of metal in one's hair that fixates it. I had forgotten all about the word 'circlet', which I had heard about only in Diablo II.

So I guess 'circlet' goes. One question though: How much does the thickness of circlets vary?

I don't want an "I'm so LOTR!" slightly homosexual type of circlet. http://www.kluever-augsburg.de/pictures/hdr/elrond.jpg'

It'd rather be this evil black sort of circlet that wreathes darkness and decay. It'd have to be thick and sort-of intimidating(as much as a circlet can be).

Thanks in advance.

I think you can be a cross-dresser without being gay... so Yes!

</font>
I wouldn't recommend a tiara then. Try a helm. Helms are totally badass.

Sir Goulum 04-25-2005 07:58 PM

I don't think circlets come in the 'wreathing darkness and decay' variety. ;)

That was me extremely off chops at my ex bf's 19th birthday.

Of course, I guess I'm excluded because I'm gay. But don't I look pretty? LOL.

Holy crap Dave, What on earth were you drinking?!?!?! :D
