I've noticed it takes a lot longer to start up as well... and my posts to IW (like this one) seem to take a long time to kick in. And I *know* it's not an IW bandwidth issue any more... :D
*edit* 45 seconds for this one... yeeoowccchhh!! [ 03-17-2005, 08:52 PM: Message edited by: Bungleau ] |
<span style="color: lightblue">Bungleau, take a look in about:config , and try fiddling with these prefs:
content.notify.interval content.notify.backoffcount nglayout.initialpaint.delay content.max.tokenizing_time You may have to create them.. they're all integers. Try to keep content.notify.interval and nglayout.initialpaint.delay in sync, but they are in different units (I think there's a factor of about 1000 or so between them...), and make content.max.tokenizing_time a multiple of content.notify.interval . I don't know why, but this is what works for numerous people at Mozillazine, and also what I use. And unless you visit some ulta-modern sites, you can safely set network.dns.disableipv6 to True aswell, and that will speed up page resolutions by quite a bit. This works well for me, and keeps firefox running smoothly under the weight of over 40 extensions. |
Woah!! I just installed Firefox here at work and everything runs sooooo damn fast!!!!! everything at IW's is instant!!!!

IW is quite fast for me thru firefox 1.0.1 and i have a 28.8 k connection.

Does anyone know if there is a new version for mac too? |
Yes, it's faster than IE but definatly a little slower with the upgrade. ..and what the heck did the upgrade get me anyway?
|
Just security updates, I think.
