I'm assuming they played with the spelling of Crysomer to get Carsomyr, the names are too similar for me to completely discount it as anything else

Hmph. I like Dundee's theory better. Hmmmm.... ::grins evilly and pulls up IEEP:: This might be fun. If I ever get around to it, maybe I'll make Crysomer, the Over-Emotional Sword.. only usable by any class allowed to wield swords.

Iron Bow of Gesen
First Appearance: the Horde Campaign set XP Value: -- GP Value: -- This item is very simple looking. It is made entirely from black iron, and is strung with a golden wire. This item and the Hammer of Gesen were the weapons of Gesen Khan, a legendary hero of the steppes. He claimed the magical items by slaying a powerful manggus. From then on, he fought many monsters, conquered rival tribes, went on daring raids, and fought great battles. As long as he had his bow and hammer, he was never defeated. Finally in his old age, he rode to the lands of the west and was never seen again. The bow and hammer may have reappeared several times since his disappearance. It is hard to be certain. Unscrupulous conmen and dishonest wizards have foisted both crude and cunning imitations on the unwary. The Yeke-noyan of the Suren was said to have had the bow and hammer when he drove the kao out of the Endless Waste. Some even say the weapons have now come into the hands of the new warlord of the Tulgan, Yamon Khahan. Although they look heavy and impossible to use, both the bow and hammer are quite light. The bow is the mightier and more valuable of the two weapons. Although made out of, iron it flexes easily. Any arrow fired from it is automatically considered magical for that attack, +5 to attack and damage rolls. Arrows instantly appear in hand when using the bow, so the owner never need fear running out. All ranges are double those for a normal short bow. In addition, the bow can fire a 20HD(20d6) lightning bolt three times per day. This has a range equal to an arrow shot from the bow. Characters possessing both the hammer and the bow invariably become chaotic good, although this occurs over a period of time. Worse still, the character is unable to refuse any challenge, adventure, or heroic deed, no matter how dangerous or impossible. He or she will refuse aid from others on these adventures. Should the character refuse to undertake an adventure, the bow and hammer will instantly disappear. |
The Wave First appearance White Plume Mountain
XP:3,000 GP Value: 20,000 Wave, a neutral +3 trident, does 1d10 points of damage per strike. It has a 14 intelligence and an ego of 20. Its special purpose is to death or disfigurement to all who won’t convert to the worship of Poseidon (or any similar sea god) {editors note: this would be Umberlee in BG2}. It functions as a Trident of Fish Commanding and a Trident of Warning {I will post these below}. It also finds water, confers water breathing, and underwater action upon the bearer and confers a cube of force ability. It possesses speech and telepathy (in the common tongue as well as the languages of all sea creatures). On a natural 20, in addition to it’s normal damage, wave dehydrates its opponent, draining one-half of his or her remaining hit points(compute normal damage first). Trident of Fish Commanding from DMG xp value:500 gp value: 4,000 This three-tined fork atop a stout rod 6 feet long appears to be a barbed military fork of some sort. However, it’s magical properties enable it’s wielder to cause all fish within a 60’ radius to roll saving throws vs. spell. This uses one charge of the trident. Fish failing the saving throw are completely under empathic command and will not attack the possessor of the trident nor any creature within 10’ of him. The wielder of the device can cause fish to move in whatever direction is desired and can convey messages of emotion(fear, anger, hunger, indifference, repletion). Fish who make the saving throw are free of empathic control, but they cannot approach closer than 10 feet of the trident. In addition to ordinary fish the trident also affects sharks and eels. It doesn’t affect mollusks, crustaceans, amphibians, reptiles, mammals and similar sorts of non-piscine marine creatures. A school of fish should be checked as a single entity. A trident of this type contains 1d4+16 charges. Trident of Warning found in DMG XP Value:750 GP Value:7,500 A weapon of this type enables it’s wielder to determine the location, depth, species, and number of hostile or hungry marine predators within 240 feet. A trident of warning must be grasped and pointed in order for the person using it to gain such information, and it requires one round to scan a hemisphere of 240 feet. There are 1d6+18 charges in a trident of this type, each charge sufficient to last for two rounds of scanning. Cube of Force Found in DMG XP Value:3,000 GP Values:20,000 This device can be made of ivory, bone, or any hard mineral. It is about the size of a large die- perhaps ¾ of an inch across-and enables its possessor to put up a wall of force to feet per side around his person. This cubic screen is impervious to attack forms shown on the table below. The cube has 36 charges, and this energy is restored each day. The holder presses one face of the cube to activate or deactivate the field. Attacks cost extra charges from the cube in order to maintain the integrity of the screen. Cube Face :: charge cost per turn/movement rate :: effect 1 :: 1/1 :: keeps out gas/wind. 2 :: 2/8 :: keeps out nonliving matter. 3 :: 3/8 :: keeps out living matter. 4 :: 4/4 :: keeps out magic. 5 :: 6/3 :: keeps out all things. 6 :: 0/normal :: deactivates. When the force screen is up, the following attacks cost extra charges from the cube in order to maintain the integrity of the screen. Note that these spells cannot be cast either into or out of the cube. Attack Form :: Extra Charges Catapult like missiles :: 1 Very hot normal fires :: 2 Horn of Blasting :: 6 Delayed Blast Fireball :: 3 Disintegrate :: 6 Fire Storm :: 3 Flame Strike :: 3 Lightning bolt :: 4 Meteor Swarm :: 8 Passwall :: 3 Phase Door :: 5 Prismatic Spray :: 7 Wall of Fire :: 2 |
