Thanks for the insights everyone!
A customer at work today who claimed to be a computer engineer overheard me telling the story and suggested increased network protection.

Thoran-

I'm looking at a similiar Belkin and ACP UPS that has coaxial and Ethernet protection as well.

Newegg has a nice ACP brand for I think around $90 that I believe is 700VA. I'll be checking them out though!

Variol-

I just got the Belkin surge protector but didnt get the one that protects Ethernet/coaxial becasue the USP I was shopping around for did. IO still need to register the darn thing and then I will check to see if the router is covered.

Felix-

The router might not be fried. I havent had a chance to crawl under the desk and pull everything apart and put it back together. My wife's computer that is on wireless started detecting the network again this morning. I'm gonna x2 check all the cables and try the router again tomorrow.

Everyone else- Thanks again for the input and insight! Worst case scenario is I get to upgrade my old "B" router and have a new Gamecube in my office because that is under a seperate warranty! :D
