Anyway, UT is a good school, but heavy party atmosphere, especially in Jester (freshman dorm). Then 6th Street is right nearby (lots of clubs), and it just makes studying very hard (known a good number of people that have gone there). Make sure you have good time management practices before you go, as it is VERY easy to get caught up in partying there.
Also, never, ever, EVER move your car from your parking spot once you get one. Parking is horrible on UT campus (too many people and way too few parking spaces). And traffic around town (especially on I-35) is horrendous, too, so you may be better off investing in a bike or bus pass.
I just wanted to throw a few things out there as advice, as I have met quite a few UT grads in my day, and used to go up to Austin all of the time. Best of luck with your future.
