It looks like complications from another item, the "pressure wound" referred to above (which was infected). So the cardiac arrest had to ride along on something else's coattails.
A "Pressure wound" is a euphymism for a decubitus ulcer, a horrible complication of paralysis, involving skin death over pressure points, usually the sacrum or buttocks, and often the subcutaneous tissue and even muscle underneath. It is easily infected, and I suspect that Christopher died in sepsis. Oh, and C.R. was a quadriplegic, not a paraplegic, a vast difference.

Yes I have heard on the news. :( RIP Superman. You will always be my hero.
Indeed. He was a good man. I'm sorry to hear of this, but his legacy will certainly continue.
I just heard this. Christopher Reeve was in my oppinion a man of great spirit and willpower. I will miss him, as I am sure you all will also.
So sad he was just a good man with a great cause he was behind. As many have said he will be greatly missed.
yeah, i heard this on the news this morning...sucks really, but he's in a better place...yeah ^_^
This is so sad. It's sad that he never lived to see the technology that might make him walk again. Chances are, he never would have walked anyway, but he always had so much hope.
RIP Superman. I really enjoyed your movie.
That is so sad :(
It's amazing what many famous people do to help the ill people in the world. I hope he rests in peace and may he not be forgotten. |
