On May 18th 1980, when I was 8, I was living in Tacoma, WA. I will never forget seeing the plume of ash rising above Helens.
Now I live in Kennewick, WA, on the other side of the Cascade mountain range, and to the southeast.
It will be interesting to see what happens from this angle.
Its not expected to be very much though. Nothing like the big one in '80.
Speaking of volcanos, Mt. Ranier, is alive and kickin in a much more lethal way. If it blows, it will kill everything within hundreds of miles, like the PUGET SOUND! Millions of people! Any year now.... :(

Here is an interesting site about the ash fallout from Helens during the big blow in '80.
Imagine if Ranier blew up? It is alot bigger and full of lava, instead of ash.

I rember when that thing blew up. I was living in Lethbridge and even from there we had a lot of ash on the ground. I imagine it would take along time befor it would have a major blow out like the time in the 80's.
