Because we CAN.
Because we feel for the people of the city, even thou they can't figure that out.
Because we like to see opposition, it builds character.
It makes for MORE media coverage.
Because the Mayor is a Republican.
Because Rudy is 'da man', and he will be there!

Well personally, I'm still wondering how Bloomberg is still mayor.

But yeah, luckily I visited the city earlier this week instead of the upcoming week. Hope everything turns out alright Yorrick.

Well all a violent protest would do is help GWB get relected. Nothing comes off as no class as "peaceful" protesting turning violent.

Most people in the middle will turn away from a party that represents by throwing a tantrum in NY....

Just my opinion....

If you have the opportunity (and have HBO on cable or satellite) catch the repeat of Real Time with Bill Maher. He has a little "rant" about the demonstrations in New York (he ends the show with it) that is absolutely hilarious.

Well we're still here. A masked idiot tried to start a fire near madison garden, but otherwise alls well. The bike protest had 250 arrests on friday, which seemed worse. There will be a traffic violating protest either tomorrow or wednesday, which could get ugly.

Just a stab in the dark here. If I wanted to divert the minds of the voters from the parlous state of the economy, the downturn in job availability and tax cuts for the rich I would hold my convention in a city where people will be constantly reminded of the largest single terrorist attack in the history of mankind.
