Eatingcontests is in one word DISGUSTING.
I'm with Johnny... Is it terribly wrong for me to secretly root for people in eating contests to choke?
Waste of food if you ask me... You could have just used to food for better things... my 2c
Count my vote for disgusting. I once ate 6 hotdogs at a BBQ and couldn't look at one for the next month; I can't IMAGINE how those people feel afterwards.
OTOH, there is a certain fascinating horror about seeing those things. It's like watching someone really stupid play with fireworks. I do get queasy from watching them stuff endless hotdogs in their mouths. I've never actually watched those competitions, but the sports channels do insist on showing the "highlights". |
maybe they just want to show off their good metabilisms! (sorry had to say that since I have a really good one supposedly)
But seriously, 53.5 hotdogs in 12 minutes??? That is just crazy! I mean I dont think I could eat that much in an hour, maybe even a day, (well I could if I pushed, but it would be uncomfortable most likely), but I mean in just 12 minutes, that guy has something wrong with him! |
You have to train hard and serious to chomp down that many (see ladyzekke's post). If you want to show off your metabolism there are many other less masochistic options.
I suspect that the winner, like champion athletes, was born with the skill, and honed it mercilessly through practice. I still don't understand how he's so skinny, though. |
They never necessarily said he didnt work out. ;)
True. Maybe he also only ate once every couple days. That's a big sacrifice to win such a worthless contest.
I just looked at more of the profiles in my link, one guy, No. 8, apparently won a butter eating contest. Another reindeer sausage, and another baseball sized matza balls. LOL these people are nuts. Only healthy food I saw in there was cabbage (yuck!)
I hope our health care system won't help keep them alive when the keel over from clogged arteries, liver failure, or a mammoth-sized case of indigestion. Otherwise there's no point to natural selection.
And no, cabbage is NOT healthy if you eat more than one! |
