Hmmm, no comment :D

Arvon, it's threads like these that only proves my point further on that thread I made about you

A pun is a form of joke that is well-liked by those who tell it, and often despised by those who hear it. It's often a play on words, like the two examples above.

The original McDonald's jingle was "Two all-beef patties, special sauce, lettuce, cheese, pickles, onions on a sesame seed bun". That's what's in a Big Mac.

And the word from Mary Poppins was "supercalifragilisticexpiallidocious".

From a US(/UK?)-only commercial, I reckon...
Somehow I have the feeling that some people in this topic were just bluffing about "getting" the pun. ;)

US/UK only? I don't know... that was an advertising jingle from the early 1980s or thereabouts, and back then, I didn't know the rest of the world existed. :D

Not that I know it exists now, mind you. Except you all keep popping up and making posts, so there may be something to this "round world" theory people have been talking about...

Okay both of those were really bad.

Puns used to be the highest form of wit mainly because they were a play on words and never insulted anyone....so people could laugh guiltlessly knowing that noone was getting hurt...
