Hhmmm. I had not thought of my task bar. I emptied everything that didnt say "SYSTEM", now I will see...
Thank you. Also, the "insert" deal, how come it happens intermitantly? |
Is your keyboard set up so that the buttons are all rather close to one another, such as on a laptop? It can get very easy to accidentally hit insert as you're typing.

Cable modem, and typing lag. What a combo. (NONE)
What have ye running in the back ground. V-Scan should be, but how do ye have it configured? Do you have it set to do automatic scans / or realtime protection, whichever brand you use calls it? If so, that is part of thy problem. Real time is great, but do you realy need it? If you can say yes, then you DO! Messenger? AOL? AIM? ICQ? E-mail with auto open feature enabled? If not disable and try. Also which OS. Older OS are not good at memory management, and XP needs to much. Also, have you ran a good hard memory test program? Also, is this DDR or older SDRAM memory. If DDR what is FSB speed, and if O/C'ng are these 3 sticks matched? Or, are you running an oddity of 2 different size sticks? If old or odd, drop one stick and try. Finally, if your BIOS is set for keyboard number lock to be enabled, try disabling it, or check for BIOS update. There are ocassions where the insert key becomes hot, especially if you use memory hog / leak programs and don't re-boot. Last, but least likely, firewall. |
