Soloing?

Soling? Level 12 Mage? 4 'thids and 2 'hulks?

Please, PLEASE, tell me your not in the underdark. Assuming your in the athkatla sewers, you can back out and come back later. If your in the underdark its possible to do the Kua-Toa and Beholder dungeons, both of which should be possible for a solo mage whos been through the sahaugin city. And you should do gain a few levels as well.

But at that level I dont think you have been through the sahaugin city. In fact, Dundee, how possible is it to get to the underdark solo at level 12? Thats low for a party isnt it?

in most literature sorceror and mage/wizard are used interchangeably the difference was never important until bg2 and 3rd edition d&d

Blood, if you're in the Underdark with a solo mage at level 12.. Well, if you managed to get there, you might be able to pull it off. But if you don't use a LOT of strategy and careful planning you might be screwed. But I think it's possible.. After all, getting there is half the fun/difficulty.

Dundee Slaytern 07-31-2002 02:59 AM

He is not soloing, refer to his other thread. You will have to offer me a million dollars to even think about soloing the Illithid City in the Underdark with any level 12 character.

Well... it is slightly possible, but you need to use the Misled Exploit and Melf's Minute Meteors. Will need a Ring of Free Action( or Potions of Freedom) and some Potions of Clarity as well.

So a level 12 Mage/Sorcerer can technically defeat the entire complex. The amount of cheese needed though, is very high.

If you want to really, really, really reek of cheese, use Wands of Cloudkill. http://216.40.241.68/cwm/3dlil/puke.gif

I think a fight won through Wands of Cloudkill is not a win well-earned though.

in the second post Keltia noted that Bodhi joins your party if you have an evil party, do you mean your whole party must have an evil alignment? and what do you mean Bhaalspawn?

Dundee Slaytern 08-01-2002 05:44 AM

1) Usually only the PC needs to be the evil one.

2) Bhaalspawns are the offspring of Bhaal and his mortal hosts, your PC is one of them.

Man, do you know how much I hate fighting beholders? I mean, one or two are fine, but when you have like three and a couple of gauths, I just use cloud kill. I really hate them. I don't use cloudkill other than that because it is cheesey... and it cheeses me off. (Hah! Bad pun! -kicks self-)

But they're not that dangerous if they bite.. Not nearly as dangerous as when they shoot rays, at least.
