Oh that's a shame, is there an emulator where you don't have to chance your PC's bios? I don't really want to mess around with mine.

I'm not an expert here, but from what I read on this thread it sounds like you need a PS BIOS, it doesn't say anything about changing your PCs BIOS - in fact using common sense, why would you do that? After all you're not changing any of your computer's hardware or making any such low-level changes that would need a change in BIOS. The PS BIOS is likely needed to provide the environment to run the PS games in emulation mode.

normal CDs and playstation CDs are exactly the same, playstation ones are just black just to tell them apart, the only thing burned CDs are often faster than pressed ones (most factory made CDs not just playstation ones are pressed) so yeah, it might be a good idea to burn a copy just for speed reasons. As mentioned above you will still need an emulator.
