Today, I raise a beer to toast my fellow Canadians here on IW.

Yes, even Bush seemed a bit shaky on his geography:

"Canada, our most important neighbour to the North"... we are your only neighbour to the North!

Anyway, Happy Canada Day to all Canadians on IW...

This is why Comedy Central is airing the Southpark movie this week. Who hasn't joined in a rousing chorus of "Blame Canada"? :D

This year only I'm going to celebrate Canada for 2 days. Yes Canada, the country so big it takes 2 days to celebrate. I'm going to get a Molsen right now.

Yes, even Bush seemed a bit shaky on his geography:
Bush is shaky on a lot of topics.

Basic Math: I got more votes than Al Gore….Yeah Me!

Constitutional law: "The legislature's job is to write law. It's the executive branch's job to interpret law."

Chemistry "Natural gas is hemispheric. I like to call it hemispheric in nature because it is a product that we can find in our neighborhoods."

Government entitlement programs: "They want the federal government controlling Social Security like it's some kind of federal program."

Economics: "It's clearly a budget. It's got a lot of numbers in it."

Nutrition: "I know how hard it is for you to put food on your family."

The Environment: "It isn't pollution that's harming the environment. It's the impurities in our air and water that are doing it."

Well at least he understands the concept of time and space:
"I think we agree, the past is over."

Well the celebrations in Victoria were pretty good. Nice fireworks, good music, the folk fest by the seawall had good music and their was a bevy of international cuisine. Wicked samosas at the india hut, amazing sausages at the South African booth, the Hungarian booth had the longest line all day for those deep fried bread thingies that people put sugar on.. Went to the bars had some pints then rode bike home with some friends. Stopped at another pub on the way and couldn't stay for a jug cause my friend forgot her id. dang! Wanted to have that last pint with friends very badly...

Yepp the celebrations was quite nice here as well. Didn't get to see too much of it though. Goind down town with a toddler isn't the best idea. Especially not when there's fireworks and plenty of , ehh not so sober, people around. ;)

Ehh so the Innuits don't count for neighbors then? But those negotiations aren't completely done yet.
