Friday 13th is considered bad luck here in UK too. I've only had one bad Friday 13th experience - I was pretty young like 10 or 11 and was travelling abroad with my mum. First of all our flight was delayed by 2.5 hours and then we took off. About an hour through the flight the plane experience technical difficulties and since we were closer to our starting airport we turned back so it was an hour back then we had to wait another 2.5 hours for them to fix the plane and then finally we took off again and got to our destination, some 7 hours late. I suppose it could've been a lot worse!

The town I grew up in near Montgomery, Al. has a local ghost story about 13 bridges that supposedly exists down some dark rural dirt road.

The story goes that one Friday the 13th past a young girl fell over the 13th bridge and drowned. Ever since then if you drive one way across the bridges you can only count 12 bridges, but if you drive back the other way you will drive over the 13th bridge.
If you stop and peer out over the foggy water on the 13th bridge, you could sometimes see the ghost of the girl that drowned. If the ghost caught your gaze (and you fail your saving throw) then you would be drawn into the creek and drown, becoming a ghost yourself.

Boo!

If 13 is such an unlucky number, then how would people react if they knew a 13-year old kid?

The casino in Sydney has 'no' 13th or 14th floor. 12, then 15. Why? Secret floor where they keep all the money perhaps? Nope. Apparently in some Chinese cultures 14 is their 13.

well personally, i don't really give hoot on friday the thirteen... friday has always been a good day for me... andi intend to keep it that way.. since friday has been that to me... ;)
