its not the feds iam worried about, if they are hackers, would it not stand to reason they have a tracking promgram, then it is safe to say they will find me right? i mean i have my addy on puter, and some pics...umm dont ask .... yes vaskes i am really worried

They probably have much better things to do (ie cracking open savings accounts ;) ) than to send you any kind of virus. Besides, if they are PROPER hackers, they would've done something by now, if your first post is after you went onto this site. Real hackers work FAST. I'd say you're probably safe [img]smile.gif[/img]

Well I was just having a bit of a laugh. Trust me there is absolutely no reason to be worried. A hacker site is either a community for them or a place to download tools. They don't care about who visits their site! LOL. Of course they can record IP addresses, I can do that with a simple ASP script. And yes if they really wanted to, they could probably connect to your computer - but you have no reason to worry because they don't want to. Do you really think anyone cares to try and "hack" every computer that connects to their server? Besides, as long as you have a firewall, you have nothing to worry about - simple block all incoming connection attempts. If you don't have a firewall download zonealarm.

As for worrying about the feds ...LOL. Even they don't spend all day looking at ISP logs of where every user has visited.

If you are worried, get a personal firewall like Vasky said. But, do you know if you have a static or dynamic IP? If you use dial up, then your IP is dynamic - don't worry (unless you downloaded something that communicates on connect). If you have broadband - get a firewall.
