I've a question do bounty hunters get a penality to thief skills?

It takes forever to level a mage up to lvl 16. You've almost completed the game by the time you can use the thieving abilities.

I dualclassed my swashbuckler at lvl 11 (he's mage/swashbuckler lvl 11/12 at the moment) but he has an melee AC -7 and ranged -4 (I'm in chapter 2 after restarting when I got stuck in the Illithid Tunnels in the Underdark. Needed a mind flayer to open the door to the master brine but spent my last collar on an Illithid)

Well, if you were going to dual-class him/her, I'd have waited until level 12 to get the extra prof point there.

BTW, you could have gotten through that door in the Illithid Tunnels by:

Well after alot of thinking I've actually decided to play as a normal thief. I backstab quite alot so I was thinking of playing a assassin but the penalty to thief skills is just to much to take for me and a normal thieves x5 backstab multiplyer is still good so thats why I'm going to play a normal one.
