I'm not trying to be a pain but it can be a problem. At least I've managed to get into debates about which side of the bed is the left or right. When you say right side do you mean the right side when laying on the bed facing the ceiling above me or do you mean the right side when standing at the foot of the bed facing the headboard. For some bizarre reason this question came up at a party and about 20 people couldn't agree on which side of the bed was the left or right side.

Hmm. Never thought it was an issue. facing the headboard is where I am coming from.</font>
ARRRGH to solve this problem many many many years ago they came up with this universaly accepted solution. When standing near the object being discussed, face what would normally be foreword and whatever side is on your right is.....the right side.
example #1. In a aircraft you sit facing towards the nose, hence the right wing is on your right. A person outside the Aircraft in front of the nose would have the right wing on his left.
example #2. you use a bed for lying in with your head at the headboard so the right side of the bed is on your right hand side. Now if some one was facing you, next to your feet and wanted to go to the right side of your bed they would go towards their left..
Now how easy was that
Oh and by the way Ziroc I'm r/handed and always sleep on the window side of the bed with the window open
