Well I never! I did not know that milo could be drunk any other way than cold. I've just asked the missis and she rolled her eyes in disbelief that I did not know :(
Oh well you learn something every day. |
Found this pic, for anyone who doesn't know what Milo is ;)

Back on topic - Milo is to be drunk with toast and jam/honey/peanut paste. Toast and vegemite requires a cold glass of milk instead. Never ever make the mistake of combining the two famous Australian food groups of Vegemite and Milo :D . |
And we Dutchies are as usual left out by Nestle :(

And Vegemite is just a copy of Marmite... which is also terrible (unless its the other way round...) |
Aaah, nostalgia. Sweet memories of stealing the home-ec's milo, skipping class and hiding out in the gardener's shed. We never had the forsight to take any glasses or milk. We had to eat it off our rulers. (for the connoiseurs out there, the proper way to consume milo is without any liquid whatsoever). Our teacher always complained, but she never did catch us! Good thing to. I can't think of any good excuse for a bunch of kids sitting red-eyed with a milo tin.

In Slovenia there's this thing called Cokolesnik (flavour choc - hazelnuts) and Cokolino (only choc). There also other kinds of flavours, though I think they're weird. It sounds the same as this Milo - some kind of powder and then you put milk in it. It's really supposed to be food for small children and even babies, but I love it! Lots of people eat it, especially students because it's quick to make. You don't even have to heat up the milk, it's good cold too. :D I miss it so much. I don't think they make anything similar here in Sweden. :(
