No, Bhaal/Baal/Baalam is a name that has been around since the early days of the Middle East. B'aal was a simple agricultural god of the Phoenicians who was later demonized by the Philistines. Ahab and Jezebel, other than being rulers of Philistia, were also the High Priest and Priestess of Baal.
So the writers could have taken it from the Old Testament just as easily (as I assume the Bioware staff did for lack of a better name for their god of Murder). Actually, the Phoenician god of murder was Moloch (to whom children were routinely sacrificed), and I think in AD&D, there is a fell entity called a "moloch" as well. I forget whether it's T'anarii or Baatezu, though.
