Again like others stated, it really depends on where you download files from, but if the server allows it I reach 800kb/s. Usually it's around 500-600kb/s however unless I get in a crappy site and get stuck at around 150-200kb/s

Ummm... Bokken... What Connection Do You Have?? |
Me on my 28.8k modem downloads at about 4kb/s. As far as i know the best you can get in Scotland (north of Glasgow) is a 56k modem... Great isn't it?

Evil Al, ADSL has hit aberdeen. I know cos I have it. At work admittedly, but I can still get onto broadband and surf IW at unreasonable speeds. Except that my PC faces the office and I dont think ken'd like it, but in principle I could.
Now whatever Bokken is running, I want. 800KB/s is the more than bandwidth of some web servers you know. |

btw. If anyone in Australia is running Optushome Cable and isn't getting this speed, drop me a line and I'll make sure you do. This excludes users that are using the @home USB Ethernet adaptor as that will restrict you to just under 300kb/s. [ 08-27-2002, 02:51 PM: Message edited by: Bokken ] |
