I think the people who actually watch that nonsense are more disturbing than the tv channels who broadcast it...

I an imagine lots of people want to see this, though i'm not one of them, but when famous people go out like this, it's often a big show. Fortuyn himself would have enjoyed this very much, i'm sure of that.

And yes, Fortuyn was a vain (ijdel) man, he certainly would have loved it. Though I still think Fortuyn was overrated. He didn't have the grandeur of a world-changing person, he didn't have the plans and ideologies of someone like Ghandi, all he had were (empty?) promises that were controversial and impossible to implement at best. His fame was created by the media, and if we have to believe the ridiculous nonsense many LPF-members were spouting he was indirectly also killed by the media. That the media also directs his funeral, is the painful irony of his character...

That's very true, if people didn't want to see it then the press wouldn't bother printing it.
I think that the man in questions wishes should have been respected in the first place. After that they should have just let the dead lie in rest.
