I think that if you check them through email it won't show up that you checked it yet. Because I get responses and it will show that it is unread by recipent.

But I always check mine everytime I get on and before I get off.

I don't ever check my PMs.... although I do get notification through email. I find the PM system very awkward, and I think a lot of other people do too. Why don't you just email people instead, as a lot of the other respondents here seem to prefer?

Because it takes about thirty minutes to slash my way into my AOL e-mail, there are so many safety precautions. Plus I don't go onto it much because all I get is junk e-mail about viagra and crap like that.
