That company certainly has it's own definition of "professional". I'm a manager, I can understand a business concern of losing productivity because employees are slacking off on the web during " company time".
That said, I think its B***S*** to try to inspire productivity by restricting activities that only lead to poor productivity if misused. The Net is a business resource, and a great way to relax, like your supposed to do on breaks. It's also fun and the most productive employees are the happy ones. I work for a giant corporation and I know how overbearing corporate culture can try to be. Fortunately my corporation sells entertainment like music, movies, and games. So it has a built-in "fun" factor called the employee discount, even if the company is dangerously cheesy or downright stupid at times. [img]smile.gif[/img] |
well the internet issue is solved (for me). There was a better internet cafe a little further on - BWAHAHAHA
so I still get my IW fix during lunch ;) |
