Meanwhile, the US is planning a UK style colonial administration to run Iraq after the fall of Saddam. I see trouble ahead...

Possibly, another reason they may have attacked Iraq is to fight against the war on terrorism. Not that Iraq had anything to do with 9/11 but from a strategic prespective of controling Iraq. Iraq is right in the center of Muslim states that many terrorist hide or thrive in. What better place to fight the war on terrorism than from Iraq. Saddham is an evil man so it likely that it is thought there would be little opposition in the world from doing so. I have no source for this because it came to me from looking at a map of the area.

An interesting point and though many would disagree with you, I do not.

The war on Iraq has been billed as a dethroning of a regime who blatantly disregards UN resolutions. Although certainly one reason for it, I doubt it's in the top ten. I posted a link to a Maclean's article titled "The Arrogant Empire," a while back and it's quite interesting to read.

The Bush administration obviously has a motive other than their declared one for this war upon Iraq, but what?

I find it interesting that this source has a refugee claim to Canada and not the homeland of "his liberator," the USA.
