Well, I didn't vote in the poll (registered republican)

I personally havn't seen anything from Lieberman that would make me think he's anything more then another puppet.

Dean on the otherhand I would vote for if he ran against Bush. He currently seems to be the only democratic canidate who really believes that what he says. For me, I find that someone who really believes in what he says is a lot more important then a one-word summary of their position. I'd rather have someone who is goign to what they believe is right, rather then someone who is going to go with what the peanut gallery says for his next decision.

You should see www.deanforamerica.com He has really put his positions out there in a very straightforward fashion. Very respectable, IMO. If you guys know of other candidates who've done this, please post the urls. I think the best you'll get from the Bush side is at www.rnc.com

Actually I was thinking Hillary not Bill. But either would be cool. Would be even funnier if we saw a H. Clinton/B. Clinton ticket in 2008

If I remember right you can only be elected president twice. I believe that is why LBJ was able to run twice for Pres.

Clinton for Vice President!!!!

While the site discounts the XII Amendment's effect, I think it is a constitutional sticky-wicket. And, you can count on the RNC to file suit.

Amendment XXII prevents him from running for President. Amendment XII dictates eligibility for the VP and states "But no person constitutionally ineligible to the office of President shall be eligible to that of Vice-President of the United States." Does this mean eligible for President under the general eligibilty requirements (Natural Born Citizen, etc.) or would the ineligibility provided by XXII apply as well? I am certain we could count on the RNC to litigate.

Right, but if you "inherited" the job with more than 2 years left, you could only run once more. Amendment XXII.

A definate sticky wicket. How would this apply to the third in line position (Speaker of the House)? So it would seem that poor Arnold would not be able to run as VP either

I was thinking it may be time to bump this up again. Hoping there would be a few more respondents!

With a nod to Gforce's thread found here:

Thanks Skywalker for the bump and link. But no real need to that for me. :D I'm a real cool and nice dude. Anyway, I chose John Kerry. I would have chosen Hillary Clinton. I just think JK has the right credentials to understand the diverse population in the US and knows what/how to do things. He would be a very effective leader eventhough he's not perfect. Who is? Peace. ;)
