I know that they're not Slayers but you know "Slayers", i said that because is ironic, how irenicus fall before the thing that he wanted so much, what i think that is strange is that everyone want the essence of bhaal and become the new Lord Of Murder but irenicus don't say nothing about it, or at least i don't remeber, he just want to merge the power of the tree of live with his...
I guess everyone feel very happy after killing the one that cause us so much trouble, when he first stole my soul i just wanted to find him and slain him and finally when i killed him for the last time and saw him in that sea of fire my goal was complete. The ending was one of those "and that's it?!" kind of things for me. While I certainly was glad to have
recovered my soul, and my revenge. And that's probably because there's no TOB port for the Mac, so I have to be satisfied with just revenge, and NOT playing out the saga :( |

to me, the soa ending felt wrong, very wrong. i wanted an option to side with irenicus and aid him in his quest to restore him to his former glory. i also thought ellesime needed to be taught a lesson - stripping someone of everything they define themselves by, taking away their afterlife and then expecting them to lead a short miserable life until they finally kick the bucket without trying to restore themselves/seek vengeance is both naive and cruel...

I remember feeling elated when I killed Irenicus in the Abyss.
That was until I saw the movie clip. Can you believe that I felt sorry for him? He was a good adversary and a master mage and so it felt a little humiliating to ME that he ended like that! His phrase "to end...Like THIS?" carried genuine anguish in it and Irenicus fell in the Abyss fighting. Oh well maybe it is just me who almost always side with the bad guys of every saga!!! :D |
I guess i felted the same way when i first saw the final movie, it's like i just wanted to go to him and help him, i know he was to ambicious to point of doing what he try to did to the tree of life and that he should be punished, but like Gottwald said, by taking his very soul form him is to doom him for as long as he lived and that way is expected that he may wanted a revenge, and revenge is something very cold, his goals to the power of the tree of life were more darker than ever, so i guess that elves make mistakes too...

i thought irenicus' death was kinda anti-climactic. then, those dudes around the table (see the other post-we still haven't figured it out) kinda made me feel weird. it is a very effective "buy-the-next-game" strategy, but i think they could have made Irenicus' death a bit more graphic. his current fate just reminded me of the Lion King. oh well...
