congradulations.

As a 3time college drop out, i know its not easy.

Jorath Calar 01-06-2002 02:10 PM

Good job Moni. Congrats
and I know the felling, well kind of, I dropped out but went back 2 years later and finished, it was hard but hey, I made it

Congrats Moni!

Thanks guys!
Congrats to you Jorath!
Now to see if I can pull of the degree in three years or less LOL.

Slackerboy,
Rex dropped out twice himself...College Algebra...happens to be a thorn in my side as well since I never took anything harder than General Math in H.S. and can do math effectively "my own way" lol...without the algebra expressions...got me in trouble more than once in my Pre-Algebra class (didn't help that I had a nit-picky instructor who wouldn't accept a right answer without the "work") but I figure hey, since I am not going into rocket science, and since I have been able to keep my checkbook balanced for over twenty years without it, it shouldn't hurt me to learn what I can forget later...at least for the semester it applies LOL.

**congrates Moni** I am so proud of you!! **pat Moni on the back** I am flunking nearly everything in sight, :D so I need to learn from you! thank you

Grand-Ranger 01-08-2002 04:28 PM

Congrats Moni! Thats great! You deserve a pat on the back from everyone here!!

Lord of Alcohol 01-08-2002 05:42 PM

Congratulations Moni! Glad to hear that! I'm your age, so I know it must be hard to go back into the school-mode. I have been thinking of doing a few classes in my field, but keep putting it off. Good for you that you dont! Good luck! I mean that btw!

Good job Moni, we'd make a good team, I always turn my papers in time but I never get higher than a B- on my exams...

Word from the wise... The first semister is the second hardest of them all... it's only surpassed by your last one

LOL! Well no more turning in late papers for me...that was a hard lesson in humility, having to apologize to the professor after I got the paper back!
Turning it in, the conversation went something like this:
Me: "Here you go! See you next semester!"
(puzzled look from professor)
Me: "Meaning that I signed up for your Gov't 1 class next semester, not that I am looking forward to flunking this one!"
(raised eyebrow on the professor as she says "O K.")
I leave, all happy that I got it turned in on time, little realizing that I got it turned in on the last day it would be accepted, not the last day before points would be taken off for lateness!

My ears burned all day & night after that...when I got the paper back and saw the "B" it would have made and the "F" it got for being late, I almost cried LOL...that was the first unintentional "F" on a paper in all my years of schooling!

I finally crossed paths with her and apologized to her just before winter break, telling her (with a lump in my throat) how the comment I made must have seemed very insulting.
Her eyes sparked with confirmation and when I explained how unaware I was that I was turning it in so late, she gave me a sympathetic smile and patted me on the shoulder, telling me not to worry about it.
It was at that moment that i knew I must have passed the class with a "C" since you can't transfer D's LOL. The moment was a moment of relief for the both of us, esp considering that I'll be in her U.S. Gov't class next week.

LoA,
Thank you very much! Do pursue your goals if taking some courses is part of them! You won't regret it.

Grand-Ranger & 250,
Thank you both very much as well! All this encouragement really means a lot to me!

Hugs for everyone! :D

Hmmm...I remember seeing a 3.30 as your overall GPA :D . Don't under-rate yourself Monique, I am so impressed with what you have done that I have no doubt that you will make the Deans List next semester.

See folks, it just goes to show that when you live with one smart cookie (like Moni) you can sometimes, if you stand close enough, and it is a chocolate chip cookie, anyway you can nibble on a few moist sweet gooey chips...of chocolate mmmm...chocolate chips...*homer simpson drool* WAIT...umm what am I saying?

<Ahem> GOOD JOB MONI! ;)
