I meant of course names of dieties and heroes of old religions. Like Unferth, Hrungnir, Hildr from Nordic/Germanic myth, etc. Artemis (Entreri, from FR novels) for example comes from ancient Greek lore. If you take the names of small figures from old legends and stuff, you can get some real cool names. |
Try making up names which can be pronounced easily, and remembered easily. For example, if you have a name which cannot be pronouced properly, then the character is less believeable.
If you have different races, cultures or countries, try and have a particular type of name for one. For example one culture always has a K' or a J' in front of the name. Hope that helped. |

Ikarion (my veru first BG characther)
Boaz Variar Domantia (a vampire witch in a Ravenloft campaign I once made) Or just mix well known names like Aramir Borogorn (think LOTR ) |
Names huh, how about (some are warhammer influenced but I doubt any of them are copyrighted)
Arkhanis Teclis* Tyrion* Malus (darkblade)* Thorgrim Morathi* Ahriman* Abbadon* Imrick Nagash* Felix Gotrek Zylo hope that helped! Edit-Malkaviel is right, I checked if the names were copyrighted and sure enough some of them were, a name with an * beside it is copyrighted, sorry Barb. Actually, sorry to disappoint, Sigmar, but I'm pretty sure all or almost all of them are copyrighted, I know fora fact some of them are, and they make a habit of copyrighting everything they invent.
Also, for names, a couple you Nordic guys and gals might know: Freki (pronounced Freh- kee) Geri (pronounced Geh- ree) I remember my older brother calling two hamsters that years ago. [ 01-13-2002: Message edited by: Talthyr Malkaviel ]</p> |
