the reason for the major price drop is making the chips has become cheeper because the silicon has become so much cheaper. i think it something like that.
i've found £8.82 for 128mb of ram from aria also ram prices are going to go up over christmas because silicon vally is shutting down for the holadays. |
The prices are really low! I just saw a 128 RAM with only 12pounds!

I disagree with you Ron. You're way off base with your assertation that the social economic impact of muslims upon our great nation will not... No, wait...wrong forum. That is an amazing price for your RAM. Thanks for sharing that link.

It's actually due the actions of the West over the past 50 years, America specifically, that has lead to the general dislike of RAM and therefore it's..... :D LMAO @Hiram |
But you only need 64k. Or that's what I heard ;)

Crucial ram is pretty well known for being the best ram there is

Elder son says now is definitely the time to buy RAM as the word is that it will be going up and soon. I know I'm geting more now--just last year I was paying $8 per meg.

Ronn, its not just the memory thats cheap anymore. Have you seen the computer Gateway is offering for around a 1,000$ WOW! Or how about labtops. These things scream! My home computer is only 2 or so years old and already it cant handle the software I want to add to it. Oh it was nice when I got it..128mb 466, Celeron. but now its considered slow. I tried loading XP on it only to be told..I have issues. Mybe Gateway is my next alternative. Just keep paying a low monthly fee and have updated machines every year. ?? Anyone have any thoughts on this??

I wouldnt recommend a leasing deal such as Gateway. If you try and do a little calculation it is *very* expensive and you end up paying a lot more if you bought the system instead
|
DiabloRex, have you priced any threw Gateway? I am intrested in your calculations and this is why I asked I am lately viewing computers like cars here. Remember how you could raise the hood and practically rebuild an engine on cars built before 82-83 or so. Now it will take you 2 hours just to filter threw the spaggetti to get to the engine ): Well, this is the future path of computers. Remember in windows 3.1 how you adjusted its components to incorperate what ever files or memory you needed... where you manually dealt with files...now its like throw away telephones. Signitures and compatability issues everywhere. Just for an experience go to the XP site and run a compatability check. Update all the drivers you want ..like myself.. more than not you wont even be able to connect to the internet after you have loaded XP on to your machine. Microsoft leads the pack and look whats happening. Mybe in my rant here I have over stepped my knowledge a little but I certainly feel like this. Just getting technitions to give you the right part numbers is hard enough. Its on purpose and intentional. Or is it that complicated to make things compatable???
