<font color=green>~She nods her head as they come to the doorstep of the Five Flagons Inn.~ "Maverick said to meet him here." ~She shoots a confused look at Deiter, then still holding on to his arm, walks into the tavern. Once inside she quizically looks around. Where's Maverick? She looks over at Deiter as if to make sure he was still there. She breaths a heavy sigh of relief as the wood-elf approaches.~

<font color=silver>~The wood-elf walks over to the pair from across the tavern, an eye looking to the window which showed most plainly how long it had taken them. He returns his gaze to his destination and reaches them within a moment. His scar contorts as a contented smile grows across his face, his black eyes clouded over with a seemingly fake concern. Ah well, best get this over with. His eyes direct to his friend.~ "Chani." ~He politely kisses her hand then steps back, acknowledging Deiter with a nod. He pulls one of the charred leaves from a pocket.~ "I take it you're Leafblade?" ~He coughs, feeling intimidated by the grim face on the taller man. His face dosen't show it but his thoughts drift to the worst. What am I doing here?! The man's going to claw my eyes out! He offers a cautious hand to shake.~ "Maverick Shadowfall." ~He coughs again.~ "Sir?" ~The last word comes out in a sort of nerve-racked squeak.~

<font color=green>~She holds back a chuckle at the tense wood-elf. Poor Maverick, Deiter's beaten up and he's still shaking like a leaf!~

This was sort of a temporary subplot that didn't turn out quite right because Deiter came back smack in the middle of it. http://www.ironworksforum.com/ubb/no...es/biggrin.gif SO I think after this we should probably finish Kaz's and any other sub-plots in the making. Deiter grasped the elfs hand and shook it. Letting go he nodded at him"Aye i'm Leafblade." By the way Maverick was acting around him, he wondered what was wrong with the wood elf.

She finally rouses from her sleep and gets out of the bed, quickly tidying it and herself out of habit. Isabeau flies to her raised arm and perches on it contentedly, engaging in some mental banter with her...

There, there...</font>~ She pats the hawk's head tenderly and plants a kiss on its intimidating beak ~ <font color="lightgreen">My darling Isabeau, what would I do without you...</font> ~ Pacified, Isabeau flaps her wings and begins to hover around the room. ~

An idea occurs to Mistral. ~ <font color="lightgreen">Isabeau, I've a gigantic favour to ask of you. Why don't you go find Kaz? She must be wondering where everyone is, my poor sister... let me know once you've located her and I'll come look for you both.</font> ~ In answer, Isabeau takes off and disappears from the room within 3 seconds. ~

Turning to Larry, Mistral gazes at him silently, her eyes clouded with worry. She chews her lips nervously, and her fingers fidget with the clasp of her cloak. She begins to pace around the room noiselessly, waiting for something to happen.

<font color=silver>~He lets out an odd whimper as Deiter shakes his hand. His eyes dart to Chani in a frightened manner. At Deiter's voice he cringes and swallows hard. He forces a squeamish smile, trying to think of a retreat, starting to inch away.~

<font color=green>~She finally breaks down laughing, her head tossing forward and sniggering. She wipes a humorous tear from her eye looking at them both. She motions for the wood-elf to step forward.~ "He dosen't bite you lout!"

<font color=silver>~He holds up his hand, speaking hastily.~ "Oh no of course not dear one, of course not..." ~He continues backing away.~ "He won't bite unless you tell him to! And then he'll chew my god-damn head off!" ~He nearly trips over a chair, trying to hold up his hands in self defense.~

<font color=green>~She gives a comical grin to Deiter then looks back at the wood-elf.~ "Maverick? Are you quite sober?"

He gives Maverick an odd look as the wood elf backs away from him."What the hell is wrong with him?" He thought to himself as he watched Maverick catch himself from falling backwards.
